A big Congrats to Natalie, the newest Featured Stamper! She has such a beautiful gallery..it was hard to chose, but I kept coming back to THIS. I kept the banners and layout, but used different colors, different stamps and made mine a baby card.

Well..I used a lot of dies & images on this, lol. After stamping the baby, I colored & fussy cut it out. The baby bed is made using the Gilded Gate die and trimmed w/ a stamped, die cut crochet border. The pennants were die cut, the BABY stamped on four of them & backed w/ the scalloped pennants die cut out of the dp.

The large white border was added under the largest layer and the greeting was stamped on a mini tag die & backed with another die cut mini tag stamped w/ a ticket stamp. The bottom left seemed a little empty so I added a die cut, stacked button. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

Blue Umbrella

A big Congrats to Penny, the newest Featured Stamper (FS372) on Splitcoast! What a fabulous gallery she has! There are a lot I picked to Case and for my Blue Umbrella card I chose THIS card. I kept the long oval frame but made it narrower, kept the blue flowers but made mine a shower card instead of sympathy and I used an inked/embossed panel for my background.
I started by inking an embossing folder w/ several blue & lavender distress inks then embossed a white panel. I added a bit more color w/ a lt blue Copic & used a dk blue for the centers. A few little flowers were stamped around the white frame & few more were fussy cut to add on top. The umbrella was stamped twice, colored w/ several blue Copics & I used a stylus on one to add some depth then attached it on top of the other umbrella w/ foam tape.

SSCB #27 – Buttons!

Welcome to a new challenge for Serendipity Stamps! We’re switching things up a bit in 2014…The challenges will now be MONTHLY so you have longer to play. The design team will still provide inspiration twice a month (every other Wednesday), but you will have the whole month to play along! The Serendipity Challenge this month is Buttons. You can find all the details on how to play along with us at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. With each challenge we always have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player.

I chose this wonderful Teddy Friends image to use. It makes a great baby card but I think it also makes a great Get Well card…the big Teddy looks likes he’s comforting the little Teddy. Since the DT’s subcategory was Get Well (along with the monthly Buttons category), I used the Get Well Soon greeting with it. For the main Button Challenge, I used several real buttons and also made a background with the sweet Button Corner image.

After coloring with Copics, I trimmed the image and edged it with black. The button corner was stamped repeatedly on the larger white panel, colored with Copics and also edged with black. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
