Today I have another fun Halloween card and it’s so easy to make. Also, it’s very easy to customize by changing the background paper and/or the greeting. I think this would look great with a bright Halloween orange or acid green background. I went with a bright yellow/orange glitter paper for some sparkle.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS919), so a big congrats to Janet! She has a big, beautiful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the eyes, two color & cover die, but I used yellow & black instead of red & black, changed it to vertical layout & added a greeting.

After die cutting the googly eye cover out of black, I tried it out on various colors of backgrounds & finally picked this bright, yellow/orange glitter paper. The sparkle just added that something I thought it needed. I used the smallest of the rectangle dies to cut another piece of the glitter paper & heat embossed the greeting on to it w/ a glittery black powder. I used the smallest of the Stars dies to cut the largest stars & two other Christmas dies for the smaller stars. Fast, easy & done w/ lots of sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Snowman Sparkle

Posted on August 31, 2024 9:03 PM by Julie Comment

I have an easy to make Christmas card today, featuring a super cute snowman and 2 different printed paper backgrounds. The very sparkly gold accents are actually wrapping paper adhered to card stock. This is an easy layout to swap out for any image, color or paper you want to use.

A big congrats to Chris, the newest Featured Stamper (FS917)! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout & split designer paper background, but I used different images, dies & papers. I already had the snowman colored & die cut, so I picked 2 patterns from the Snowflake Fun paper pack that went w/ him. Turns out, I only needed 1 sheet because the top pattern is actually the reverse side of the green snowflake paper. I used a stitched rectangle to cut the entire front, cut the top third & flipped it over. Where the come together is covered by the gold glitter strip. That glitter strip is actually very sparkly wrapping paper that I adhered to card stock to make it easy to cut. I also cut a couple of snowflakes out of it.

I used the long narrow die from the Impossible Fold die set to cut the glitter band going across the card front.  The greeting was stamped on a small tag die.

These are the Copics I used. I colored this snowman when I did the others on this card below, but didn’t use him then.

    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

  • Winter Window

Posted on August 9, 2024 10:11 PM by Julie Comment

     X4!
A winter wonderland scene through and around a beautiful die cut window. Some big glittery snowflakes decorate the icy blue background and vellum between the window layers softens the look. The glittery look is continued on the curtains and snow covered ledge.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC975) we are visiting Quiet Joy at Home & their Pinterest Board where I was inspired by THIS window scene. I liked the icy blue colors & sparkle of the lights.

My card is mostly designer paper with the addition of a die cut window. I die cut the window frame 4 times. Twice out of white card stock & twice of white card board. Each card stock piece was glued to one card board piece. The curtains & snowy ledge were die cut out of white glitter paper. I attached a piece of sheer vellum on top of one of the window cuts. The curtains were glued on top & finally the other window was attached on top of everything. The quadruple layers give it a nice dimension & also solve the problem of how to attach the vellum. Sandwiched between like this, glue isn’t visible. Before I attached the window to the designer paper, I glued some large glittery snowflakes to the background. The greeting was also stamped on a piece of vellum & the lower edge was cut w/ a cute little snowflake border. I will mention, from experience, not all ink stamps well on vellum. I used Brilliance graphite black & also heat set it just to be sure. On the backside of the vellum, I used a white Posca pen around the black letters to add a little brightness. The glue tape for this is hidden behind the greeting.
