Hocus Pocus

Need a fun, not too scary Halloween card for someone special? It’s not hard to make and the you can easily switch up the colors or greeting. I used a stencil and some glitter embossing powder but that’s totally optional. I’m a fan of sparkly things on Holiday & Halloween cards.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge FS972, so a big congrats to Katherine! She has a fun little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the Halloween theme & boots, but I used dies instead of an image, one big boot instead of 2 little ones, left off the tag & changed the layout. (These dies & paper are a sneak peek of some new items being released on 9/24 & we’re having an IG Hop w/ prizes on that Wednesday morning. You can get there by clicking my LINKabout 9 am EDT on 9/24.)

To make my card, I die cut the boot out of orange, then placed a stencil of stars & circles on top. I chose to only use some of stars & with a detail brush, I used Versamark thru the chosen stars. It was then heat embossed with a  glittery black powder. I also coated a larger piece of black w/ the Versamark & embossed w/ the same powder & die cut the star & the laces & boot strap. After die cutting a black rectangle to go behind the white panel, I used the VM only around the edges & embossed it. (If you emboss the entire panel, the one on top will not adhere very well.) I used an orange glittery powder on some pieces of orange for the boot heel & the buckle & eyelets were cut out of gold glitter paper scraps.  The greeting was stamped onto the rounded white panel & also embossed. The boot was popped up one more layer. After putting it all together & attaching it to a piece of the designer paper, the black star & a couple of  star shaped rhinestones were added.

Thanks
so much for stopping by!
