For my cards today, I made several water color wash backgrounds. I picked one of the brighter ones for this card. The frame was die cut first, edged w/ a black marker,  then the tulips & leaves were cut out of the leftover pieces.  A white background was cut to fit inside the frame using a pierced rectangle die then the flowers were arranged on top. The Bloom die was cut out of black 3 times and stacked together. I added just the flower centers cut out of a little pink area from the watercolor background. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and here’s a look at the inside.

My second card uses one of the paler water color backgrounds. This time, I die cut a narrow black square frame to place all the flowers & leaves inside. Before I attached them, I used a black Tombow maker to ink just a few of the dots from the ink splatter image and stamped them in a diagonal from top left to bottom right.

After attaching all the flowers, the Create word was die cut 3 times like before and stacked. I added some black crystals to the flower centers for a little sparkle. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and here’s a look at the inside.

Seems I’ve been making a lot of rainbow/umbrella/rain cards lately! But I love umbrellas and the challenge today on the Ways to Use It Challenge (WT526) is April Showers..so I wanted to play. Today I’m using a new greeting & one of the cutest (in my opinion) umbrella images around. Both are from DRS Designs. After coloring & fussy cutting 2 umbrellas (one to pop up on top), I took a piece of white card stock and cut a bunch of bands using large & small petite oval dies then colored them individually w/ Copics. After putting them back together, I added a white layer w/ a circle cut out on top and added the greeting & some raindrops.

I added the umbrella and some stickles on the raindrops and where the bands of the rainbow come together. For the frame, I took the piece I cut the white layer out of, colored it to match my rainbow then put it back around the white layer. Here are the Copics I used and it took about a jillion of them!

The sketch today on Splitcoast (SC535) seemed pretty easy and digging through my stash of stuff, I came across this poppy. It was already stamped on a watercolor background and I thought it might work out for the sketch. I did use a water brush to “lift” a bit of the color in areas on the poppy for highlights. I just think it adds a bit more depth to the image.

I die cut it with a mega oval then decided I wanted it a little smaller, but in order to make it smaller I had to do a little out of the box with it. After adding a black mat, I thought it looked a little too small, lol. So I attached it back on top of the layer I cut it out of originally. For the divided background panel, mine is not actually 2 panels..just one panel divided by a black strip. Down the left side, I die cut the grid and added some of the leftover water color pieces. On the right, I embossed it w/ a cherry blossom folder and used little punched circles for the centers. Since there isn’t a lot of space left, I didn’t add a greeting.
