Today’s Color Challenge (CC581) on Splitcoast was a little challenging to me..I like the sky blue & green..even the wisteria..but that blackberry color is one I’m not that crazy about. And it’s hard to match. I did the best I could using Distress inks & just hoped for the best.
    Birthday Medallion2 09112

I sponged the Distress inks across a large white panel. Then I put the Medallion Bg into my Misti & applied the Memento inks to it and stamped on top of the sponged bg. In the sky blue & wisteria areas I applied ink again & restamped. After die cutting this panel w/ 2 sizes of Pierced Rectangles, I inserted a fancy white layer in between then attached them to my card. The greeting centerpiece was die cut w/ a Pierced Circle, layered onto a larger sponged blackberry layer & attached to a die cut piece of vellum. I used the same die to cut the white topper, but also used the inside die to cut out the middle & make a frame of it. I trimmed a couple of little corners from a Majestic Medallion die cut & added them below the greeting.

Here’s a look at the inside, using some left over strips & a butterfly.

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs May Release Blog Hop! We have some beautiful images & fabulous dies for you this month, so get comfy & prepare to be amazed!

    Vintage Hatstand 09092
After stamping, coloring & over stamping this lovely Hatstand image, I die cut it using the new Pierced Ovals dies & matted it w/ pink polka dot paper (from the Shabby Rose paper collection) die cut w/ the largest Oval die. Behind them I added a slightly altered Doily die cut. Normally it is round, but I split it in two & spread it apart then added an extra, separate piece of one section of another doily die cut on top & bottom to fill in. On the background, I stamped the birdcage w/ the gray flannel ink & die cut it w/ the matching die. After I cut down this piece, I added a smaller piece of the blue paper on top & a die cut border covering the join. The die cut birdcage was put back into the same opening where I cut it out & I added the frame left from die cutting the largest Lavish Layer on top. This frame was also cut w/ the largest Pierced Rectangle die. The greeting was die cut using one of the Mini Tags…I just cut it once, then turned the die around & cut again to remove the hole part. A small bow was added underneath and a trio of Bitty Blossoms added in the lower right corner. A little stickles was added to the flowers on the hat & I used a pearl pen to add the centers to the flowers & on the doily.

Here are the Copics I used.

On my second card, I’m featuring the fabulous Majestic Medallion die & Medallion Sentiments set. I started by stamping the frame w/ the pink ink & die cutting it using the inside die of the coordinating Flourishy Frame die. The flourishy part of this die was used on a piece of dk navy card stock & layered underneath the stamped pink section. I added a white layer die cut w/ the Quatrefoil Design die (it fits around the Flourishy Frame perfectly!) The large pastel pink layer was cut using the outside frame die of the Majestic Medallion dies & I used the flourishy part of the die to cut the navy topper. This navy layer was added on top of the Flourishy Frame layers then both attached to the pink layer. I had also cut this Majestic Medallion out of white & I added just a few of the inside pieces into the matching areas inside the navy layer.
    Just for You 09051
The greeting was die cut w/ a pierced circle & inserted into the center of the navy frame. All the Bitty Blossoms & Pretty Posies were shaped a little before adding in the left corner.

Here’s a look at the inside. I used the Medallion Bg to stamp over the inside in pink, then masked off the center & stamped the edges in denim. A navy Micron pen was used to define the line between the two colors.

    Christmas Poinsettia Quilt cu 08908
    Weekly-Favorite
Today’s Sketch Challenge (SC590) on Splitcoast is an easy one w/ lots of possibilities. I thought I’d use this fabulous Dresden Quilt die along w/ the poinsettias dies to get an early start on some Christmas cards.
    Christmas Poinsettia Quilt 08907
I die cut the quilt 3 times..one in white, one in pine green & one in a sheet of the Cozy Quilt paper. After piecing them all together, I attached to a white base die cut w/ the Double Stitched Rectangles, then a larger pine green layer.
    Christmas Poinsettia Quilt xcu 08923
The poinsettia was die cut using the Peaceful Poinsettias & Merry Mosaics dies & I used a stylus to add a little shape to them before attaching in the center of my quilt. The die cut Merry was added underneath w/ the Christmas attached to a large bow & added below.

Here’s a look at the inside.
