Congrats to Jenn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS369) on Splitcoast! After much browsing, I chose THIS card of Jenn’s to case. I kept the layout and used a girl for the main image, but I used different image, different colors and turned my bow sideways. This is also for the Sweet Stamps Challenge…Favorite Color! My fave color is green and I love it paired w/ these peachy/pink colors.

After coloring Margery with Copics, I die cut her with a mega oval then embossed her with the oval from the Radiant Rectangles set then added her to the green die cut from the same set. The designer paper is from Prima and I used it because the vintage style seemed to go with my vintage lady. But…the paper didn’t have quite enough of the peachy pink colors so I used a Copic to add more of these colors to the paper. I also used the bisque & sardonyx Copics to color the seam binding I used for the wrinkled bow. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used. And in case you’re wondering, the blue violet was used for the shadows on Margery’s skin.

My first card features the fun Bee Happy set and Honeycomb Background. After stamping the beehive with deep lagoon chalk ink, I added a little yellow ochre with a Tombow marker. Normally I use a Copic marker, but they don’t play well with chalk inks. I did use the yellowish Copics to add color around the beehive, but I did so very carefully.I really wanted a hexagon die to mimic the shape of the honeycomb, but I don’t have one. So I die cut it with a square die then turned it 45 degrees and cut the corners to mimic a hexagon shape. The honeycomb embossed layer behind it was done by inking the embossing folder, embossing the vanilla card stock then die cutting with the square the same way. For the turquoise background, I stamped portions of  the Honeycomb Background with teal, butterscotch and white pigment inks. The seam binding was colored with Copics to match.

For my second card I’m using the beautiful Zinnia set and matching dies along with the gorgeous Blooming Garden paper collection. After stamping the large zinnia once and small zinnia twice, I colored them Copics then die cut. One of the small zinnias, I fussy cut smaller than normal then layered them together and added a little stickles in the center. The greeting was die cut with a circle die and attached to a floral die cut along with some little leaves from the Fancy Foliage set. The vertical white panel was die cut with  the  Daisy Chain die and a  scalloped long rectangle die was added around it. A few colored gems were added for extra interest. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.Julie Warner – https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

  • Enjoy the Lilacs

    Julie Warner – https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
For the Sketch Challenge today (SC477), I made this card. I like the easy layout and I thought it would work great with this beautiful lilac image. I colored it with Copics to match some of the beautiful new dp from ODBD called Blooming Garden collection. I also did a little search and found out that lilacs come in a range of colors, including reds. The lilacs were die cut using my out of the box technique. The long dp strip and the image were matted with a pale pink marble paper and I added a few sequins for more interest. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.
