    Soar cu06304
    Weekly-Favorite
For the Sketch Challenge (SC539) on Splitcoast today, I used some beautiful new images from Our Daily Bread designs.
    Soar 06300
I started by stamping the Belles Vignes on white card stock then adding some shades of aqua in the lower corner and on the little flourishes. The Crochet Circle Plain was also stamped, colored and die cut with the matching die. I stacked it and backed it with more circle die cuts & the Soar on the top most circle along w/ tiny butterfly image. The large butterfly was die cut, the top in black and the matting layer in white which I shaded w/ the same aqua blue Copics & topped it w/ four sizes of aqua crystals. The ribbon was also colored to match, and these are the Copics I used.

    Butterfly Wings 06196
On my first card, I white embossed the Belles Vignes on white card stock that was die cut using the largest of the Flourished Star Pattern dies. Then I used a rainbow pad to sponge on the colors. I also white embossed, die cut & sponged all the beautiful butterflies from the Trois Papillon & Butterfly & Bugs sets. The greeting, from Spread Your Wings, was done the same way & I added a few die cut flowers from the Birds & Nest dies.

Here’s a look at the inside. Since I didn’t use designer paper, I sponged & stamped then added one leftover butterfly.

My second card uses the beautiful Spread Your Wings set along with the Dogwood Mini. I already had it in my mind to do a window opening with the nest inside & I wanted it to look like the nest was resting in a dogwood tree. After coloring & die cutting the birds (I colored them to look like bluebirds), I colored & fussy cut the dogwood branch 3 times. I also fussy cut an extra front facing wing on each blue bird & popped it up for a little dimension.

    Bluebird Song 06223
I added a large piece of the ODBD Shabby Rose paper behind the window and also around the greeting circle. A few single dogwood flowers were sprinkled on the lower right and I added some stickles to the flower centers. These are the Copics I used for this card.

    Camper 06245
Are you ready for summer & summer vacations? If this cute camper doesn’t get you in the mood I don’t know what will. I know they are usually a silver color, but it’s my camper & I wanted some bright colors. After coloring it with Copics, I fussy cut around the top because I already knew I wanted it to sit on top of a frame with the US map inside a window. Then I had to make a background for my map. I’ve done a different version of Bokeh before, but for this one, I started by sponging on the colors, then used circle masks, a pencil eraser & a Q-tip with white pigment ink to make the Bokeh circles. Here’s a look at the background before I stamped the map.
    Camper bg 06232
I also added a few darker spots w/ the eraser and the same ink pads just for a little contrast. Then I stamped the map & added the frame with the greeting stamped on the right. The die cut Enjoy was added in the left corner. These are the Copics I used for the camper.

    Relax cu 06238
My next card was almost entirely paper piecing. I’ve had this big pad of fun summertime papers for a while & they are a little cartoonish but so colorful. I thought it would be fun with this fun new Hammock image.
    Relax 06239
I die cut the paper with a stitched rectangle die utilizing the cute sun & clouds already on the paper. A stitched hill die was used to cut the bottom part of the paper and add it on top (it’s a 12 x 12 pad). The hammock image was pieced using a couple of different areas & papers from the same collection. I did have to rearrange the greeting a bit in order to fit it around the hammock & I added the Relax die cut on top.Copics were used to color the tree, sky and stripes of the hammock & these are the colors I used.
    Relax copics 06231
On the inside, I used some of the left over papers.
