Frights & Delights

Halloween will be here soon! Time for a not-so-spooky card that is sure to delight the recipient. Lots of color & pattern on this one. This is a 5×7 card so there is a lot of real estate to display the patterned paper and big pumpkins/Jack O’Lantern.

A big congrats to Teri, the newest Featured Stamper FS1027! She has a fun little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the bats/Halloween theme, the use of printed papers & most of the colors, but I used different papers, made mine a 5×7 & turned it horizontal.

For my card, the pumpkins were die cut out of 2 colors or orange & I used some brown & orange inks to add a little depth to them before gluing them together. To make them more Halloween-y, I added black die cut bats on top. They were layered, some popped up, on a white tall hex (turned sideways) cut background. I used a larger hex to cut the black plaid pumpkin paper behind it. The 5×7 stitched rectangle dies were used to die cut the orange plaid & plain orange paper. The largest of the 5×7 rectangles was used to cut the largest black plaid pumpkin paper for the final layer. I split a the greeting into 2 lines & used the mini sentiment strips for them & the orange backing layers.

Thanks
so much for stopping by!
