BEST OF 2013 – CAS

A big Congrats to Pattie, the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS325)! She has such a lovely gallery and I chose her Hey Chickie to case. I kept the layout and birthday theme, but I made central image an oval instead of a rectangle, offset it a bit and used different images.

The images I used are from DRS Designs.  After die cutting a Spellbinders petite oval in the white panel, I used a polka dot bg w/ white pigment ink & white embossing powder to cover it. I also white embossed the image on a piece of vellum & colored the back side w/ Copic markers before attaching the polka dot frame on top. One wing of the butterfly & one leaf were cut around in order to have them on top of the oval frame.  The sentiment & turquoise layer were die cut w/ circle dies & I used a Copic marker to change the color on the Candi dot from lt blue to turquoise. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Congrats again, Pattie, and enjoy your week!

BEST OF 2013!

A big congrats to Robin (Missro), the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS324)! What a lovely gallery she has and after much browsing, I chose her Happy Birthday Joan card to case. I kept the basic layout and white background but turned it on its side, used different images and made mine a window instead of a layer.

I needed a birthday card for my nephew and since he was born in Hawaii, I usually make him a beach related card. Though I have to admit, this beach scene reminds me more of the town where I grew up rather than Hawaii. The images are from Our Craft Lounge (sadly they closed 🙁 up their business). I stamped the scene on top then added a black frame and the top white layer w/ windows cut out using Spellbinders long deckled rectangles. Another one of the images was stamped on the top layer and all of it was colored w/ Copic markers. The little seagull was fussy cut and attached on top. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for looking!

BEST OF 2013 (x3!)

A big congrats to Lesley aka Lionsmane, the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS321)! What a fab gallery she has! There were many I wanted to case, and I finally chose her Pink Cat Baby Card. I kept the general layout but moved things a bit, the soft colors and embossed background. I used different images, different embossing folder and added some punched and colored flowers.

The images are from DRS Designs. I stamped the lovely umbrella twice, added some soft shading w/ Copic markers and cut both out. I used a stylus to add some shape and dimension to the top umbrella and attached it on the base umbrella w/ a little foam tape underneath the center. The narrow little ribbon bow was also colored w/ Copics before attaching.

The background was embossed and I punched a bunch of different sized hydrangea petals out, added a little shading and tiny black dots in the centers, then used the stylus to curl the petals a bit. The sentiment was die cut along w/ the pale pink backing oval to finish my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

Congrats again, Lesley, enjoy your week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
