Congrats to Connie, the newest Featured Stamper (FS587) on Splitcoast! She has such a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS to case. I liked the layout & shape of her main panel but I used different images, different colors & made mine a Thank You card. I also used the colors from Tuesday’s Color Challenge (CC685).

To make my card, I die cut the vellum centerpiece then stamped the greeting w/ black Stazon. The flower scroll was stamped using Brilliance moonlight white & a little pink added to back side w/ a Prismacolor pencil. I used a white pencil on the back side to add the highlights to the greeting. It’s attached to a dot embossed bg that I used a white marker to highlight the dots & edge it. The pink bg was embossed w/ a corner folder after die cutting.

This is also for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC648) & THIS was my inspiration.

To make my card, I used a background I made quite a while ago. It’s a technique I learned around 1999 (yikes!). Easy & fun to do. All you need is white glossy or semi-glossy card stock (it needs to have a coated surface) & art tissue that bleeds when wet. Not all tissue paper will do this, so check what you have first. I have some Spectra Art tissue & I know it bleeds so that’s what I used. Pick some colors you like but be aware that contrasting colors (like red & green) will make brown. Tear some pieces & place them on your card stock then mist it w/ water. Wait a minute or two then remove the tissue & let it dry. You want to leave the tissue on long enough to bleed the color onto the c/s but not long enough to dry there, or it will stick.

After it dried, I placed it into my Misti & stamped the mailbox image on top. I wanted it a bit darker so I coated it w/ black embossing powder & heated. I used a white Posca paint pen to add the white dots to the flowers & border around it.

Golden Dragonflies

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge (IC644) on Splitcoast, and I went with a site suggested by my friend Kia…Carlyle Avenue. There was a lot of very interesting stuff there but ultimately, I went with THIS. I really liked the gold & the textured look of the wall behind the shadowbox.

To make my card, I started by using an embossing folder on the piece of kraft c/s then I sponged a little of lightning black ink over the high points. I wanted a little more gold, so I also went over it using a metallic gold Prismacolor pencil. Then I used the fringe scissors all along the edges & roughed up the fringe a bit.
All of the dragonflies & daisies were embossed w/ gold & fussy cut. I used Prismacolors on the 2 kraft daisies & left the white one uncolored. The white circular frame was die cut & the flowers added in & under.

Here’s a look at the inside. The greeting was stamped w/ the lightning black so it has a nice metallic look in person.
