  • Be Merry

Posted on November 24, 2023 11:14 PM by Julie Comment

A fun, glittery holiday card with plenty of silver sparkle embossing and glitter paper. So bright and sparkling for a Christmas greeting or a holiday party invite.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC938) we are visiting PepperLu & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS picture to inspire me.

The little boy in the picture became a sparkling wine glass on my card. I die cut it out of silver glitter paper & the wine out of red glitter. The black layers were backed w/ the same silver glitter paper. I used a silver tinsel embossing powder to heat emboss the upper part of the large black panel w/ the stars & dots. The greeting was also embossed w/ the same powder. I put two greetings together, using the first line of one & adding the Merry from another under it. Some red & clear gems were sprinkled throughout the top.

Since the first line of the greeting was from a longer greeting, I masked off the lower section. I’ve been asked how I do this & I took a pic to show you the easiest way I’ve found to do this. After inking the part I want to stamp, I put a strip of scotch tape across the part I want to exclude. I do this because I’ve found no matter how well I think I’ve wiped the ink off that part, it is never quite all, so this just ensures I don’t have any unintended inking.

    Thanks so much for
    stopping by!

Such a terrific site for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC701). While I was browsing, I came across THIS picture and it reminded me of the wine image & greeting I have.

After coloring & die cutting the lady, I stamped & fussy cut the wine glass & bottle. For the greeting, I stamped all but the last line then used red & blue pencils to draw the notebook paper lines & used a punch for the side. Then I stamped the last line & underlined it & drew a little push pin on it. The top bg was a piece of acrylic paint bg I had & I thought the colors accented my images. I put her in a circle frame then put it all together.

Here’s the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

It’s my turn & my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS628) so a big congrats to Heejung, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a marvelous gallery that’s growing daily. I chose THIS card to case. I really liked the multidirectional images in black on the kraft bg & white greeting on black  so I kept those. But I used different images, different dies & used words on my bg instead of images.

For my coffee until wine girl, I used the Coffee word from 3 different greetings & stamped them multidirectional across the kraft panel. I used a white Prismacolor pencil to add a little punch to the words. The lady was stamped, colored & die cut using the matching die & added to a circular bg. The greeting was split up to fit the black strip & white embossed. I didn’t have an arrow type image like Heejung did below the greeting, so I used a piece of black & white ribbon.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
