This is one of the new floral oval sets and they are perfect to make an easy card with a lot of impact. Use a colorful background, stamp the negative image on top and you have instant art! The black is clear embossed on mine to add that extra bit of shine & sharpness.

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge, IC1009, and we are visiting Raspberry Creek Fabrics & their Pinterest Boards. THIS wallpaper was my inspiration. I liked the bright flowers on the black background.

My card was fairly easy. I used some little ink cubes & large blending brushes to make a colorful background. I started w/ the yellows, then pinks & finally green at the bottom. Below is how it looked before I stamped on it. I did let the background dry first, then went over it w/ my embossing buddy before putting it into the Misti & stamping the oval multiple times for good coverage. It was coated w/ clear powder then heat embossed.

The floral oval was die cut then added to a white rectangle w/ the dot dash pattern. I placed the rest of the background behind it to let the colors show thru, before adding it to a black postage rectangle. The greeting was stamped on the bottom underneath the floral oval, which is popped up just a bit.

Iris for a Friend

My card today is a pretty floral inside an oval with a stenciled background. The stencil makes it easy to match your colors to any image you want to use. This would be great as a spring or Easter card for a dear friend, It’s not at all hard to make and the colors can be customized to your own liking.

For the Featured Stamper Challenge FS947, we are having a special remembrance of a dear member of Splitcoast who recently passed on. Polly was FS431 back in 2015 so today we are honoring her by selecting once again, from her gallery. I chose THIS card to case. I kept the floral theme & stenciled background, but I used different images, dies, colors & stencil.

After coloring & die cutting the lovely Iris image & greeting, I die cut a large white oval, then used a smaller to cut out the inside to make a frame. I made a similar frame out of lavender & attached the white frame on top of it. Then both were attached to the inside portion of the oval. I popped up the iris just a bit in order to make it level w/ the part that hangs over the frame. I did the same for the greeting, For the background, I used a 2 part stencil w/ lg & sm circles & 3 colors of ink. I also cut a rectangular frame & popped it up before adding it on top of the background.

These are the Copics I used on the iris: (here’s a coloring tip for you. I used the G21 & G99 for the leaves & since they’re on the cooler side of green & I already had the Y02 out, I used it in areas of the lighter G21 on the leaves to bring them forward & add a little warmth to them. It’s also handy if you don’t have a lot of lighter YG colors.)

Wedgewood Flowers

My card today used a floral set from this week’s new release. It’s heat embossed in white on a blue that reminds me of Wedgewood Vases. A die cut background & embossed greeting complete the card. This would make a great card for Easter, too.

For the Inspiration Challenge IC1008, we are visiting Antique Farmhouse & their Pinterest Board. THIS fabric tablecloth was my inspiration.

After I heat embossed the pretty floral with white ink & powder, they were both die cut w/ their coordinating dies. I also die cut the petal cover die in white as well as a smaller white panel. This panel I used a large corner rounder on the top corners. They’re attached to a large blue panel. The oval & the greeting are both popped up just a bit.
