    &
My card uses some lovely, water colored, Gardenia images. Usually gardenias are white, but with amazing stamps, they can be any color you want. I chose the pinky-purple colors. I love this greeting and it can be used for so many occasions..get well, thinking of you, birthday, or just because.

A big congrats to Charlene, the newest Featured Stamper FS949! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I liked the cascading flowers so I kept that. But I used different images, dies, colors & turned mine horizontal.

After stamping the gardenia blooms twice w/ waterproof ink, I took out a water color set & a couple of small paintbrushes. Water was floated into the blooms, then the pinks were dropped in at the centers, & a lt blue at the outer edges. I let this dry a minute or two, then added darker pink in the middle & a little blue-violet at the outside edges then added a bit of water in the centers to pull the paint towards it. The leaves were done w/ a couple of greens. After they dried, I die cut them. The greeting was stamped & only the word “sparkle” was heat embossed w/ black glittery powder onto a deckle cut white panel.  I wanted a little sparkle on the flowers, too, so I used a clear Wink of Stella over the blooms, A cornflower blue panel was die cut & added under the greeting panel. One image of the gardenias was popped up & added on top of the greeting, & the other was cut apart & tucked underneath the same panel.

    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

  • Mother’s Day Poppies

Posted on April 11, 2025 9:53 PM by Julie Comment

Today, I have a sunny, Happy Mother’s Day card using some beautiful, water color like poppies. This set comes in 2 parts-the outline & the solid fill, to allow you to get a water color look without the mess. And the new Dot Dash Arch die is well, to die for!

For the Inspiration Challenge IC1010, we are visiting Bon Ton Goods & their Pinterest Board, where I was inspired by THIS vase of flowers.

To make my card, I stamped the outline part of the poppies w/ black, using a water proof ink. Then inked the solid inside part of the image. Yellow was used first, over the entire insert. Then I added the 2 pinks, 1 at a time over the lower or inside edges only. I repeated the yellow, this time spritzing the inked stamp w/ a little water before stamping it again. This allowed the colors to blend w/o soaking the paper. The poppies were die cut & popped up 1 more layer. The dot dash arch was cut out of a solid dk orange & the inside white arch was cut using the stacked arches die set. I used this set for the pale greenish-gray layer behind the orange, too. The bottoms of these two were trimmed off to fit. The greeting was stamped & die cut w/ its coordinating die along w/ two orange pieces to form a shadow on top & bottom. A pretty printed paper from the Welcome Spring pad was used behind the arches.

    Thanks

A floral card for a special day. Perfect for a birthday, Mother’s Day or a wedding/anniversay card. The greeting is so flexible but it’s also easy to add any greeting you wish or make the colors different to suit the recipient. For a wedding card, try using the bride’s colors to make it extra special.

A big congrats to Kristina, the newest Featured Stamper, FS948! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the color combo & floral theme, but used dies instead of stamped, added a cover die underneath & embossed a greeting.

This is a sneak peek of some new dies coming out Wed, 4/9/25! To make my card, I die cut the woven cover die once out of white & once out of cardboard then adhered them together w/ liquid glue. I wanted to give the cover die a little more lift & stability. The flowers were all die cut out of a pale peach, then I used blending brushes & a darker pink ink to add color to them. The leaves were cut out of 3 shades of green & green inks were brushed onto them. The stamens were cut out of gold glitter card, then the top petals were shaped a bit before I put them all together. The greeting was gold embossed, die cut & 2 plain black sentiment die cuts were added, 1 on top & 1 on bottom to shadow it.

    Thanks
