Welcome to the January Challenge for  Serendipity Stamps!
This month the challenge is Stripes! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog.  We have something new…a “Stamp of the Month”. Each month a different image will be 50% off.  Each month a different image will be 50% off. This month- it’s the Party Background. Be sure to check out the great deals on the Clearance Stamps! And as always, we have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player.

    I Love Snowmen 08147
Since the challenge is stripes, I thought a stripe embossing folder on the white & the Beaded Strings Bg on top of the brayered layer would be perfect. After I stamped the cute Umbrella Snowman w/ Memento & colored with Copics, I overstamped w/ Versafine (it was still in my Misti), then die cut w/ a little out of the box to keep from cutting the umbrella. I then die cut it again using the next smallest die, brayered the cut off frame then put it back. The stripes on the front were embossed on an angle & just on the one corner for a little interest. The partial I Love Snow greeting was stamped onto a pennant which was colored around the edges w/ Copics & the die cut Snow was added below. The extra snowflakes were die cut from the Snow die.

Here’s the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

My first card is for today’s Technique Challenge (TLC565) to put a bow on your project. This is a very simple card…the front is one big die cut that covers the card front. I die cut it out of a dk green w/ gold dots designer paper
    Joy Noel 08025
After die cutting it, I die cut it again using the largest die from the flourished star pattern die then backed it w/ a piece of ivory that has small flecks in it. A lt kraft layer was added behind it & I used the same lt kraft to die cut the bow.

    Supplies:

    Stamps: none
Paper: dk green dp (Paper Studio -Christmas Traditions), ivory flecked, lt kraft
    Ink: none
Accessories: ODBD Flourished Star Pattern, Medium Bows dies, Spellbinders A2 matting basics A, Holiday Greetings dies

My second card is also CAS (clean & simple) & is for the CAS356 Challenge to use a snowman. I stamped my snowman, masking just the very bottom, then added the “melty” part w/ a Micron pen. The tree line was stamped behind him & I added a little color w/ Copics & some sparkle w/ stickles.

This is for 3 Splitcoast Challenges…the sketch (SC570), the Technique (TLC563) & the CAS (CAS354). It’s been a long time since I combined more than 2 challenges. Green Snowman 07990
For the CAS, it was to use Christmas greens. I used only greens…5 shades of green from a Kaleidacolor ink pad. And since I really didn’t color anything & it’s all die cuts, it really was easy. For the Technique, we were to use small stamps to create something. I used 3 small images to make the large circle & a small greeting to make the border. I just eyeballed the placement & it worked out pretty good. For the sketch, I did a little finagling….I rotated it counterclockwise, my panel 5 is a bit larger to accommodate the snowman & my greeting is also round.

Everything was stamped w/ the fresh greens rainbow pad onto water color paper (that’s why it isn’t bright white). For the snowman, I used a water brush to drag the color in for shadows then dried it & over stamped w/ the same ink to sharpen the details again. The panels were all die cut & I used the same inks & water brush to add color to the edges. A little stickles was added along w/ a glittery round embellishment I colored green w/ a Copic (it was clear).

Here’s a look at the simple inside.
