For the Splitcoast Color Challenge (CC573) today, it’s a Bingo game of colors. I went with the 2nd row straight across…gray, yellow, red & bermuda blue/green. My dessert option is heat embossing.
    Bday Superstar 08648
After die cutting about a bajillion stars & double stitched stars out of all the different papers, I die cut the black panel w/ the largest Double Stitched Rectangle die, then moved one edge in & die cut it again to get a narrower panel. I tacked the cut off stitched strip on top just ’cause.

The greeting was stamped w/ white ink & heat embossed w/ pale yellow embossing powder. Then I added all the stars..some are elevated & some are elevated a little more. 🙂

Here’s a look at the inside using some of the leftover stars.

  • ODBD Anything Goes Challenge!

    Birthday Superstar cu 08545
Welcome to Our Daily Bread designs Shining the Light Challenge, ODBDSLC271!
And the challenge is Anything Goes!
This challenge will go until the 13th of March at 8 pm EST.  We will offer a random prize of a $15 gift certificate toward stamps in the store.  One individual will also be spotlighted for the Shining the Light challenge.  On March 15 we will have an Anniversary challenge.

    Birthday Superstar 08543
For my Anything Goes card, I’m using the just released Superstar set along w/ the new Double Stitched Stars dies. These dies go perfectly with the Sparkling Stars dies, so if you’ve already snagged them, you’re in luck. If not, go ahead and grab those when you get the others..trust me, you’re going to be using these a lot…birthdays, graduation, Christmas..the list is unending!

The multi color bg was done on a large manila tag using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique. I used the Distress inks one at a time and let the colors dry in between so they wouldn’t get muddy. When I finished, I used one of the smaller Double Stitched Rectangles to cut it then I die cut the star shapes & added the white outline stars inside the openings. Behind the star openings, I added a lime green star w/ the star outline gold embossed & the gold embossed greeting on vellum behind the largest star.

A few more die cut & gold embossed stars were sprinkled around on the rest of the die cut stitched rectangle layers.

Here’s a look at the inside.

  • ODBD February Release Look Back!

Posted on February 19, 2016 7:58 AM by Julie 9 Comments

    Pastel Easter Egg cu 08401
Today we are taking a look back at the Our Daily Bread designs February Release! I’m featuring the big, beautiful Boho Egg dies in both of my cards.

    Pastel Easter Egg 08402
The idea for this card came last week when a Splitcoast challenge wanted us to use Washi tape. I have a few rolls of it & until this card, I hadn’t even opened the package. The colors of tapes were pastel & thought they went well w/ the Pastel Paper pack. I covered a piece of card stock w/ strips of the pastel Washi tape on the diagonal then die cut the large egg background. I used more of the tape to cover the largest layer which was die cut w/ the Flourished Star Pattern die. The Boho egg topper was cut out of lilac & the mint frame, polka dot bg , all the little flowers & bow are all from the Pastel paper pack.

    Pastel Easter Egg xcu 08407
I added some dots of pearl pen all around the egg & in the centers of the flowers then added the Easter word at the bottom.

    Supplies:

    Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs
Paper: Neenah white, lavender, designer paper (ODBD –Pastel Paper )
Ink:  (Versafine royal purple -inside greeting)
Accessories: ODBD Happy Easter, Boho Egg (retired), Flourished Star Pattern, Double Stitched Rectangles, Bitty Blossoms, Small Bow dies, washi tape, Viva pearl pen (white)

For this card, I stamped the Easter Egg Background w/ white pigment ink onto water color paper then heat embossed it w/ white powder. I used the Distress stains to dab color over the background then a wet paint brush to move the color.

    Easter Egg 08493
I only used the topper for the Boho Egg in order to let the colors show through & I added a Medium Bow on top & the full Happy Easter die cut greeting below.

Here’s the inside using a few of the Easter Egg die cuts.
