To make my very sparkly birthday card, I first die cut two layers out of white using two of the matting basics. Then the Party Balloons Reverse die was die cut in the smaller layer. On the larger layer, I used Distress inks to sponge on the different colors then attached the balloon layer on top. I also sponged one big balloon cut out and the Happy die and attached them. The Party Bg was stamped across a narrow strip using the Kaleidacolor ink & the Birthday was stamped on top.  I added stickles to the Happy & the one balloon on top and used a clear Wink of Stella on the other balloons. Since we’re combining the hop w/ the monthly Challenge of Stripes, my colors were put on in stripes (or wide bands) and the Party Bg on the strip is a stripe format.

  • Valentine Doily

    Doily Valentine cu08207
Today’s Sketch Challenge (SC575) looked simple, yet interesting, so I gave it a try. My card is fairly CAS (clean & simple), made easier because it’s made up of scraps, leftovers & die cuts already made.
    Doily Valentine 08208
The white stitched frame, pink doily,  pink circle, arrow & hearts were already cut & just hanging around. The doily isn’t actually a full one..just what you see here, so I tucked it partially under the white frame. The narrow black inside the white was another frame just hanging out so everything worked today. Well, except my internet..it’s been going on little coffee breaks all day. So annoying!! The only newly cut items are the big Happy and the little embossed heart bg.

  • Snowing Hearts

    Raining Hearts cu 08170
    Weekly-Favorite
Today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC527) is a Pinterest board of Winter White. I was inspired by THIS picture w/ the pink umbrella, but instead of falling snow, I have it snowing/raining hearts.
    Raining Hearts 08169
I kept the backgrounds all white & except for some stamped falling hearts using the pink ink w/ just a few in red. I also added some die cut pink & red hearts (from the Umbrella die set). The top umbrella was popped up in the middle and under it I stamped the Valentine question mark in red ( I thought it would make a cute umbrella handle). I went back & inked just the words w/ a black marker & stamped that part again & used the same marker to outline the red heart.
