Welcome to the October Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is appropriately…Fall/Autumn! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog. The DT has the added challenge of making a Halloween card. And as always, we have a have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player. The sale this week is Buy 3, Get the 4th Free … good through Oct 22nd.
For my fun little Halloween card, I used the really cute Pumpkins on a Fence image and colored it with Copics. I used a cloud stencil I made with acetate & scallop scissors and sponged on light clouds using antique linen ink. After die cutting, I added a frame from designer paper that just happened to be the exact right fit. There’s actually a faint pattern in it but it’s a bit hard to see. I framed it with some orange paper from the same collection and since I really liked the swirl pattern, I cut around part of it at the bottom and slid the image panel under it. Originally, I was going to add a bigger greeting in the upper left, but it just didn’t work, so I die cut the big pumpkin out of printed halloween paper and backed it with a black print. A few sequins, a Candi dot to anchor the little greeting and a big glass beaded button in the upper left finished it.
The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
On the inside, I used a piece I cut out behind the black frame on the front and stamped the greeting I started to use on the front.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit all of the DT for some fabulous inspiration for your Halloween cards!
