For my first card, I heat embossed all the snowflakes onto vellum and fussy cut them before attaching them to a dry embossed piece of vellum. On the SNOW die, I used a glue stick to attach a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil to card stock then die cut it. It’s attached to 2 more die cut SNOW words for dimension and I also used a little dimensional silicone to give a bit more lift. I used the rest of the foil covered c/s to die cut a narrow frame. Since vellum is so hard to attach w/o the glue or tape showing, I like to use frames to attach it to my cards. The frame & vellum panel are attached to a piece of blue & white polka dot dp and then to my card. I used some AB crystals in the center of the snowflakes and also attached a few extra foil covered snowflakes (from the center of the SNOW die) .
On the inside, I used the narrow left over silver frame & an inside frame of the same blue dp from the front and some silver snowflakes I didn’t use for the front. The greeting was stamped on more of the same embossed vellum as I used on the front. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.
Supplies:
Stamps: Serendipity Stamps – Snowflake cling set 1335G, Snowflake small 356C |
Paper: white, blue polka dot dp (DCWV), vellum |
Ink: Colorbox frost white pigment, Memento Danube blue (inside) |
Accessories: Serendipity Snow die 039DD, Spellbinders A2 matting basics A & B, winter wonderland embossing powder, Darice snowflake border embossing folder, AB crystals, heavy duty aluminum foil |
I started my next card originally for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast, but I didn’t get it finished and it also morphed a bit because I ran out of room for the greeting. Oh well!
I used the super cute little snowman and more of the same snowflakes for this card. The snowflakes were stamped w/ the lagoon chalk ink and heat embossed w/ the stardust powder (it’s a transparent glitter powder). The snowman was colored, then die cut using my out of the box technique. The middle section is some of the glitter card stock & I die cut it using a curved border. For the greeting circle, I inked it first w/ the teal ink and tapped the nautical blue ink on top for the lower section before stamping it. I added a gradient color to the “snow” using Copics and also to the embossed edge after die cutting it. The lower section is a piece of a much hoarded Figgy Pudding dp (love that collection!).
The inside is more snowflakes and leftover embossed pieces.
The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
