    Weekly-Favorite
On the Inspiration Challenge (IC431) on Splitcoast, Audrie has some awesome rainy day images to choose from and I love several of them. For my card, I chose THIS picture with the cute frog and his umbrella. I didn’t add any rain drops, but I did give my cute frog a little umbrella.

So they say it rains a lot in the Pacific Northwet and it’s been so cold everywhere else, so my little froggie brought these lovely flowers to cheer us up. And all the green gives up hope that spring will be here soon. After stamping the frog, I colored him w/ Copics then used the splatter image and the lipstick ink underneath him. I also used a pink Copic to add more shading around him on the ground. The umbrella was stamped, colored and the handle part was done separately and added. I just thought it needed something and the umbrella fit the bill. The greeting was die cut as well as the flower & grass border. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

  • Bird Bath

    Julie Warner – https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
For today’s Free For All Challenge (F4A211) on Splitcoast, we have a color challenge…blue & yellow plus another of your own choice. So I’m using all the green of the grass as my other color.

This card is pretty simple, just some masking & coloring all on the one layer. The bird bath itself was stamped for the background splashes but the colored in version was fussy cut and added on top. The only reason this happened is because I had already colored the bird bath but I didn’t leave enough room around it for the scene. It seemed easier to just cut out the bird bath than to color it again. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

  • Going Green!

    Julie Warner – https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
For the Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast (WT469) we are Going Green…using the color green! Since it’s my favorite color, it’s perfect for me and for my St. Paddy’s Day cards.

On my first card, it’s pretty simple, and really only one layer. The hat full of shamrocks, greeting, shamrock border and shamrock corner were all stamped on the same layer and colored with Copics. I trimmed around the edge of the shamrock border and added a narrow strip of green behind it before attaching to my card front. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

On my second St. Paddy’s Day card, the leprechaun scene was stamped, colored with Copics and I added a rusty brown frame with a large scallop oval cut out around it. I just loved coloring the toadstools these funky colors! The greeting was stamped on the frame and a couple of toadstools and shamrocks were colored, fussy cut and added on top. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.
