A big congrats to Barb, the newest Featured Stamper (FS386) on Splitcoast! She has a lovely gallery and I chose THIS card to case. I kept the oval and similar colors but I used a vertical layout and made a melted crayon background (a cousin of encaustic wax) for the WT485 challenge, instead of using designer paper.
This was the first time I’ve tried the melted crayon background and I loved playing around with it. I made quite a few…it was hard to stop! Since I really like how this background turned out, I kept everything else simple…a greeting on a white frame and some die cuts. I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with crayons in a long time!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Congrats again, Barb!

Julie – great card and super case! Love what you did with the crayons. I have not tried this technique. It looks very intriguing. I was blown away by my selection as stamper of the week. As far as I know I have never been before. Thanks so much for playing along and leading me to your blog.
What a stunning card Julie! You’re crayon background reminds me of a Japanese watercolor painting. Just amazing.
Oh my goodness what gorgeous results, Julie! Love your resulting card, too – thanks so much for sharing it with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
I have no words for how utterly brilliant and beautiful this is!!! ~ Laurel
