    Best of 2011

I’m going to share two different cards made using the same set, 1900 Cars set 285. For the travel card above, I used two different map papers, a new banner die set and labels 17  from Spellbinders. The antique autos on both cards were colored using a combination of  markers and Prismacolor pencils. For the Travel greeting, I used a bookplate die and bowed it slightly when I attached it.

On the Classic card below, I cut out the roadster and also an extra left side (facing the viewer) and layered it on the base image for a little extra dimension. The background scene was stamped, masked, sponged and then colored w/ markers. The white frame used a lg oval Spellbinders die and a dot border embossing folder which I used a stylus to hand emboss around the frame.  Both cards measure 5.5 x 4.25. The Travel and Classic cards w/ full instructions are also on the SNS website.

I love fall colors and this image was just made for them! On damp watercolor paper,  I floated in the various colors of dye reinkers using a fairly large paintbrush. After it dried, I stamped the image with permanent black ink.  I stamped the image a second time on a piece of card board. I cut both out, leaving a very narrow frame around the top and sides and glued them together. After sponging a little red ink on the edges of a piece of marigold card stock, I attached the cut out image to it.  I added a narrow black layer and a textured mustard one before attaching everything to a 5.5 x 4.25 white card. The sentiment was stamped on top of a scrap of the watercolored paper and cut out.

This is also for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast (IC255).

For my card, I stamped the image with permanent black ink onto watercolor paper.  I used a combination of reinkers and markers to watercolor the image. Highlights were added with a white gel pen.  The lt blue frame was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and I cut the inside out and attached over the image.  The embossing was highlighted with a white Permapaque pen. Two butterflies were colored, cut out and attached. I used markers directly on the sentiment image before stamping. I added a little outline with a dark  blue gel pen.
