    Sketch of Roses III

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Aren’t Roses utterly breathtaking? This stamp line has a lovely background image approx. size 4 ½ x 5 which lends itself to some many different tech’s, you’ll find this line quite versatile! The delicate Roses are so easy to color in with your fave medium of choice!

For my card, I stamped the large background onto white card stock. Just the section with the Rose wording was stamped again on a smaller piece.  I added just a hint of color to the leaves on the large one and used a circle die for the small one. I used a narrow red ribbon to add the loops around the edge and I attached a cardboard circle to the back to keep it all in place. There is a black labels 3 die cut under the circle, but it’s a little hard to see.

I stamped the big rose twice and the small rose once, colored them with a water brush and some dye reinkers then cut them out. A little shading was added with some markers. I used a stylus on the top two to add a little dimension then layered them on top of each other.  The sentiment was stamped with red and layered on a red scrap.  I made a little vellum envelope to tuck it into. The finished card measures 4.25 x 5.50 (A2).

Congrats to Vicki, today’s Featured Stamper at SCS! I chose her Beach Vacation to case. I kept the same colors and water scene theme but chose a different stamp set and different layout.

I just love this beautiful lake view scene! The first idea that came to me was sort of a window/frame looking in to the center of the picture and this is pretty much as I pictured it. On water color paper, I black embossed the scene twice and used a paint brush, water and dye reinkers to paint both scenes. I added more color details with markers. I placed a template of  one of the Spellbinders Labels 8 in the center of one scene and traced it with a pencil. I determined which elements to cut around with a craft knife so they would be on the top frame. It was a bit of a challenge and took my out of the box Nestie technique to a new level, lol.

I cut the 5.5 x 4.25 white card with the largest of the Labels 8 dies and used the in between size to cut the brown mat. I used the end of the die to cut the embossed sentiment. (You can actually see the entire sentiment when viewed from straight on, but this angle cuts some of it off.)

For my card, I stamped the sunflowers, colored them with markers and used the out of  the box Nestie technique and a labels 8 to cut it out. It’s matted on a larger black layer. For the next layer, I used some fancy edge scissors, called sunflower, to trim around the rectangle, then sponged ink on the edges.

The grid background was done by covering the white c/s with some drywall mesh then sponging yellow and orangey inks over it. After removing the mesh, you get this wonderful grid pattern. I added a narrow black border (also trimmed w/ the scissors) near the edge of my 5.5 x 4.25 white card. A checkered bow and Happy Fall tag finished the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project today. From here, hop over to Connie McCotter’s blog to be inspired and blessed!
