Congrats to Jackie (westie2), the Featured Stamper this week on Splitcoast (FS294)! What a fab gallery full of splendid designs! It was hard to pick just one, but I kept coming back to her You Make Me Smile. I was fascinated by the open holes and designer paper showing through. I kept the layout and design, but used different images, slightly different color and added a row of embossed dots across the center.

I’m not quite sure how Jackie achieved the holey design,  but I did the holes in the bottom of my card with a long reach 1/2 inch hole punch. Pretty simple. In place of her yummy drink image, I used a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Wish die. I die cut it out of a separate piece of white then die cut that w/ a Spellbinders classic oval. I also used the ovals to cut out the card front opening and a piece of the raspberry dotted paper. I attached the Wish behind the dotted paper then to the inside of the card. The images are from Our Daily Bread designs and the greeting was stamped on the front next to the oval opening.

The paper on the inside was stamped w/ a little flower image and I filled in the centers w/ a white gel pen. The lower corners of it and the card were rounded w/ a lg corner rounder. Just to make the oval cut out a little neater, I attached a die cut oval ring on the inside. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Congrats again, Jackie! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Today, we have a special Happy Birthday Blog Hop for our dear friend and DT member, Randi! In her blessed life, she has faced so very much and if you’d like to read a little about her recent battle, please take a moment to read the story behind the ODBD stamp set, Randi’s Song, named in her honor. Kelley will be giving away a Happy Birthday set to 3 people chosen from the comments.  All you have to do is hop along and leave a Happy Birthday wish for Randi on the ODBD Blog. And if you feel so inclined, you can leave her a Happy Birthday wish on her blog: Randi’s Blog. She hasn’t been able to create in a while, but she does stay connected and I’m sure she’ll see your message.

This is my birthday card & bookmarks to Randi. I hope she like them! I used several different sets and dies to create it and the double sided bookmarks. For the daisy background, I used markers to color in the background and add just a hint of color to the daisies. The sentiment was die cut, sponged and layered on top of two Memory Box die cuts. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

This shows one side of the bookmarks and if you flip them over, this is what they look like on the reverse side:

  • The Life in Your Years

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

I made this for today’s Technique Challenge (TLC382) and the CAS Challenge (CAS175) using a pic of a bathing suit as inspiration. The dryer sheet flower is pretty obvious, but this really is a quick and simple card. The dryer sheet flower was pretty quick because I cut the layers 6 at a time w/ a scalloped circle die. I didn’t do the spray ink thing because if I’d taken the time to find those, it wouldn’t have been quick. So I just brayered over them real quick and slapped them together w/ a lg brad and attached to a stamped crochet edge circle. Then I added a little stickles.

The images are all from Our Daily Bread designs and the quote was die cut and the only reason it’s on a separated panel from the frame is because I stamped it a little crooked so I had to add another layer. Oh well. The crochet border was stamped a few times at the bottom and put my 5.50 x 4.25 card together.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
