    Witchy Halloween 04394
Today’s Ways to Use It Challenge (WT500), has us caseing our own first uploads to our Splitcoast galleries. Yikes! Since that’s a scary proposition, I went with 2 Halloween cards I uploaded my first week as a member on Splitcoast. For this card, I cased THIS one of mine (below).

witch_shoesFor new card, I used a piece of glitter sticker back c/s for the upper section. It was silver but I used an orange Copic to color it then a curved border die to cut it.The little cat in the moon was also stamped on some of the glitter c/s & colored before fussy cutting. The witch legs were colored w/ Copics and I added some stickles to the purple stripes of her stockings. A few sequins were sprinkled around for more glitz. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 & these are the Copics I used.

On my second card, I cased THIS card from the very next day (below) which was appropriately, from the very first WT Challenge I did!

WT111 Fright NightFor my new card, I have no clue as to why I thought it would be a good idea to split the pumpkins image in two. After I did that, I spent probably an hour trying to figure out how to arrange them. 2 of something in most cases doesn’t look as pleasing as 3 of something. So I have a tiny little greeting underneath (no room for anything larger).

After coloring & die cutting the pumpkins, I matted them on larger black squares and added a stacked die cut button to sort of “join” them. I had this fun orange/black polka dot ribbon but the orange was too light so I took a darker orange Copic and colored over the dots. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

Well, that’s my updated cases of my early uploads. I don’t think I can take any more embarrassment today after looking at my first uploads, lol.

What a super  Inspiration Challenge (IC459) today on Splitcoast! Be inspired by Kittie! I’m always inspired by Kittie! And I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her. For my card, I was inspired by THIS wonderful Halloween card she made. And as homage to Kittie, I included a window.

I die cut the decorative window out of black and attached a sort of spooky looking sky behind the top that I made with Copics. I had a fun Jackolantern that I had apparently colored & fussy cut at some earlier date & I thought he looked good in the window except that he didn’t show up very well against that orange sky. So I trimmed down the black window insets, stamped the spider web on them, then added them to white insets & placed them inside the window frame. The curtains were made w/ some wide webby ribbon I had & I used the star brads as tie backs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Boo04489I used the fun Kitty & Jack image along with the new Boo die for my Halloween card. This image is a lot of fun to color! I also stamped, colored and fussy cut just the kitty & jack part to pop up on top of the base image. The base image was die cut w/ a large circle and I trimmed of the bottom just below the rock wall & added a larger die cut circle behind it. Boo was die cut out of a dot embossed textured black & stacked on top of 2 more die cut Boo’s for a little depth. The large distressed orange dp was stamped with the new Wood Background image using the rusty hinge ink. I punched one black bat fence and another out of a black Halloween text print..the solid black fence has some yellow highlights added to the top.

The yellow leafy dp on the left was a leftover strip from something else and I used a curved border die on the right edge & added some black faux stitch lines. On the inside, I added some leftover dp and punched bat fence to frame the fun Fraidycat greeting.
