Almost entirely die cut Christmas card (one word of greeting was stamped), w/ a lovely pierced herringbone pattern background & brushed gold Christmas bells. I used a couple of techniques when die cutting the designer paper that are worth checking out (links provided).

A big congrats to Mimi, the newest Featured Stamper (FS862)! She has such a gorgeous gallery & while I adore watercolor, since her gallery is all beautiful watercolors, I went w/ an entirely die cut card. THIS is Mimi’s card I chose to case. I kept the Christmas theme & colors, but used die cuts & a pierced background instead of watercolor. The layout was kept similar, w/ most of the detail down the left side, but I used designer paper for my left side strip instead of pine boughs.

After I die cut the bells, bow & Merry part of the greeting, I used a circle die to cut the pearl shimmer paper behind the bells then put them together. The Christmas word was stamped onto a flag w/ the Merry attached above it. The white background was die cut w/ a stitched rectangle, then I used a background cover piercing die that reminds me of herringbone. For the side strip I used just a section of designer paper w/ a mini slimline die & used my out of the box method to cut the part w/ just the bells. I also resized this die to make it narrower. I used the same die to cut the pine green layer behind it.

Since the bells were die cut out of brushed gold, I used that & a light gold for some of the holly leaves. A darker gold & 2 shades of pine green were used for the topmost holly leaves.

    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

  • Merry Bright Animals

An easy, cute Christmas card w/ adorable little critters. Quick to make since the animals are already colored & are included in this paper. Matching dies make it so easy.

We are visiting The Makers Keep for the Inspiration Challenge (IC923) this week where I found THIS cute picture. The little animals, colors & tree reminded me of the ones in this paper.

Since all the images are pre-colored & have matching dies, it was pretty quick & easy to put this card together. I die cut the white top w/ all the windows & added 2 more behind it to pop it up a bit. I used one of the white circles for the greeting, then replaced the row of white circle inserts along the bottom w/ green die cut circles. The top window was replaced w/ another piece of the paper from the same paper pad. Then all of the critters were added.

The little animals & tree were popped up just a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Snowflake Love

A big congrats to Cindy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS861)! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the Love part & the layout, but I made mine a Christmas theme, used snowflakes & different colors.

For my silvery snowflake card, I wanted it to be really shiny so I glued a heavy weight aluminum foil to card stock then die cut it twice: first w/ a mini slimline then w/ a piercing die of flowers & swirls. It looks terrific in person, but it’s so hard to photograph. I also die cut some snowflakes & the Love out of the same foiled cardstock. The flowers & leaves were die cut out of 3 shades of blue & silver snowflakes attached on top. The greeting says ” Peace. Love. Joy” but I replaced the Love word w/ the die cut version.

I used a dk blue snowflake paper for the sides. I die cut it w/ the same mini slimline die then cut it in half & attached it on either side of the foil panel.

    Thanks so m
