Are you ready for summer & summer vacations? If this cute camper doesn’t get you in the mood I don’t know what will. I know they are usually a silver color, but it’s my camper & I wanted some bright colors. After coloring it with Copics, I fussy cut around the top because I already knew I wanted it to sit on top of a frame with the US map inside a window. Then I had to make a background for my map. I’ve done a different version of Bokeh before, but for this one, I started by sponging on the colors, then used circle masks, a pencil eraser & a Q-tip with white pigment ink to make the Bokeh circles. Here’s a look at the background before I stamped the map.

I also added a few darker spots w/ the eraser and the same ink pads just for a little contrast. Then I stamped the map & added the frame with the greeting stamped on the right. The die cut Enjoy was added in the left corner. These are the Copics I used for the camper.

My next card was almost entirely paper piecing. I’ve had this big pad of fun summertime papers for a while & they are a little cartoonish but so colorful. I thought it would be fun with this fun new Hammock image.
    Relax 06239
I die cut the paper with a stitched rectangle die utilizing the cute sun & clouds already on the paper. A stitched hill die was used to cut the bottom part of the paper and add it on top (it’s a 12 x 12 pad). The hammock image was pieced using a couple of different areas & papers from the same collection. I did have to rearrange the greeting a bit in order to fit it around the hammock & I added the Relax die cut on top.Copics were used to color the tree, sky and stripes of the hammock & these are the colors I used.

On the inside, I used some of the left over papers.

    Seashell Summer 04290

Well, this is one of those cards that the idea was different than the result. It also is prettier IRL..so sparkly and not anywhere near as dark as it is the pics. And somewhere along the line, the paper piecing part totally got lost. Maybe we can call the stamping and fussy cutting of all those shells as paper piecing 🙂 I have some packages of coated glitter sticker card stock and this particular sheet was silver. I added the blues & greens with Copics then stamped the shells and palm tree with Ancient Page on top. I had to color then stamp because the ink and Copics don’t work together if I do it the other way around and Memento won’t stick to the coating. I did briefly heat set the ink just to be safe. The frame was die cut out of glittery designer paper with a gray patterned sheet behind it w/ the greeting stamped on it. I added some small punched circles of the same colored glitter paper inside the frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit and comment on all the Summer inspiration cards from the DT.

This month we also have a special guest designer!

    Bllue Flip Flops 04416
Another big Congrats to Diane, the newest Featured Stamper (FS393)! I had this one picked out and really loved the clean layout, so I kept that, but used different images, different colors and due to an error in stamping the greeting (lol), I have more layers. I also left off the twine & added a strip of dp w/ a sparkly buckle on it & added a few sequins.

I stamped the 3 different flip flips w/ the stone washed ink, die cut them & added them to die cut, layered squares. The rest is pretty easy. I added the backing layer of the same dp for a little more color and the white panel is actually 1 stacked on top of the other due to the mistake. The buckle was made by using a xyron coated piece of card stock, coating it w/ glitter using the laminate part of the xyron then die cutting. I like these because they sparkle but the glitter doesn’t rub off since it’s under the laminate. Usually I’ll do a big piece then die cut when I want it.
