A big Congrats to  Roberta, the newest Featured Stamper (FS359)! She has such a wonderful gallery! I chose THIS beautiful card to case. I kept the large oval and shaving cream background, but I used different image, different colors and made mine a Christmas card.

On my card today, I’m using this really wonderful candle image. I just love it! I thought it would look really nice w/ an opening behind it and the stained glass stamped on top. Logically, the stained glass should show thru the glass of the Hurricane lamp, but y’all will have to overlook that one. It was getting late and that was a bit too much to do. Especially since I already did a special “into the window” treatment. It’s a lot likeout of the box” but it goes into the cut out instead of out of it. After stamping the image, I lightly penciled in the shape of the oval opening I wanted to die cut. Then I cut around the parts that I needed to have on top of the die to keep from cutting them off and I inserted the oval die as shown.

It’s just a rough cut around the candle now…I’ll trim it after I die cut the oval.

This is how it looks with the bottom of the die inserted under the bottom of the image. All ready to die cut now.

Die cutting and embossing all finished! Now I’ll trim it and color the image. The stained glass image was gold embossed on a piece of dk purple shaving cream background I made ages ago. I liked the contrast of the dk purple behind the candle. The greeting was stamped below and my finished card is 4.25 x 5.50. These are the Copics I used to color it.

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs December Release!

For my first card, I white embossed all the little flowers and greeting on white card stock then die cut them w/ the matching die. On the greeting flower, I left the die in place and sponged on the berry ink. On the other flowers, I sponged on the lawn, berry & peacock inks. The curvy white strip on top is a couple of left over pieces from die cutting a labels 17. The strips were pierced, attached on top of the two rows of flowers w/ ribbon on top. The large 5.25 x 4.0 white panel was also pierced around the edges. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

On my second card, I started by using a brayer and a large rainbow ink pad to cover a large piece of white card stock. After stamping the Ornate Background, I added some highlights w/ a white gel pen and a white Prismacolor pencil. I then added black enamel dots all over the design. The two border/frame images were stamped, colors and die cut w/ the matching dies. The greeting was die cut w/ a small petite oval and I cut along the edges of the design to insert it. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

  • Mint Green Ornament

Weekly-FavoriteA big CONGRATS to Susan (One4Joy), the newest Featured Stamper (FS354) on Splitcoast! I’ve been a fan of Susan’s for a long time and I love her wonderful thoughtfulness and quirky style. While I love her projects, it was hard for me to case her. I chose THIS beautiful card to case. So my attempt is close..I kept the same layout and big circle element, but I used different images, different embossing folder and added a bow instead of the felt snowflake border.

I embossed the lovely ornament w/ a sparkly black/green powder onto a shimmery mint green card stock and die cut it w/ the coordinating die. The shimmery dark green card stock was embossed w/ a multi image folder, but I only used one section and moved it around to selectively emboss the same snowflake line three times. I added two die cut mint green borders on top and bottom w/ the greeting stamped on the lower one. The ribbon for the bow was colored w/ Copics to match and the finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Congrats again, Susan, enjoy your week! Thanks so much for stopping by!
