Hello my friends! Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs Nov. Release
Blog Hop!  You might want to start at the ODBD Blog so you don’t miss anything!

For my card, I used the fabulous new Chickadee Ornament!

I also used the lovely O Christmas Tree Carol from last month’s release. the pine branch/pinecone from Sing for Joy and the sweet little Chickadee w/ matching die.

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
After stamping the ornament and chickadee, I die cut the ornament w/ a circle die and the backing gold layer w/ a larger circle. I used the matching die for the chickadee (such a fabulous time saver!) and added a little color w/ copics. The pine branches were fussy cut. Originally, I had a separate background using the music background, but it just didn’t work so instead I stamped it w/ gold ink directly on the white card front. I thought I still needed a little separation between the main images and background, so I die cut a pine green frame and added a little texture. I just happened to have the red ring (from another project) and it was the right size so I added it inside the frame edge. Instead of adding another layer, I sponged the gold ink around the edges of the card front. A little gold bow w/ some added pine branch cut outs on top finished my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Christmas Snow Globe

Posted on October 21, 2012 12:59 PM by Julie 2 Comments

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

Congrats again to Marcie, the Featured Stamper this week on Splitcoast (FS298)! This time I chose her Tree Trimming Christmas to case. I kept the Christmas tree theme, colors and big circle but changed the layout, put my tree inside my circle to make a snow globe and added some trimmings w/ the die cut holly and cut out pine cones.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. I really wanted a big snow globe card and when I saw Marcie’s Christmas tree card, I thought I’d try putting my tree inside the globe. The music bg was stamped w/ the sand ink and I used deckle scissors to cut it out. I die cut the snow globe out of white and again out of metallic gold. I used 2 circle dies to cut out the gold rim for my globe (I needed a way to hold the acetate down). On the white one, I stamped the tree and presents, masked them then using a stamp positioner, I stamped the music so it would line up w/ the bg…as if you’re really seeing thru the glass globe. The the greeting was added and instead of worrying w/ loose glitter, I just smeared stickles on the tree and presents. After it dried, I added the acetate and gold rim and attached it to my card. The die cut holly and cut out pine cones were added for trimmings. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dimension is the challenge today for the Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC398) on Splitcoast! I loves me some dimension! I added some layers for dimension, added a little dimension in shading around the tree, also masked the tree to add stamp the presents for a little dimension and embossed the fronts for even more.

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

This is a standard A2 card, but I scored it at 3.50 from the right and 2.0 from the left. Then I embossed both side sections. It seemed a little tricky at first, but I did the right side made a pencil mark on the left where the curvy line would be and lined that up with the embossing folder. I used a Grand Calibur and the mini cutting plate set and the big folder WILL fit in side ways to accomplish this.

    Julie Warner - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

The inside is stamped, colored w/ copics & tombows and layered. I used the border dies down the side. The images are new from Our Daily Bread designs. I really love this tree image! The presents are a separate image so the tree can used with or without them.  I attached a couple of die cuts from the Spellbinders Asian Accents set to use as a closure and the front has stickles on all of the snow dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
