Are you craving a big, sparkly, multi layer piece of cake? I have just the thing for you. This big slice of cake, well, it takes the cake. It looks great in plain card stock or maybe like mine with all the different shades of layers all heat embossed with a sparkly powder. It’s paired with a stenciled & heat embossed background.
It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge, IC1000! Wow, that’s a big number! 2025 also happens to be the 20th year of Inspiration Challenges on Splitcoast. So I picked Hallmark as my site, since they’re all about anniversaries & such. There’s also a bonus (just for fun) to add something silver. THIS was my inspiration.
To make my very sparkly card, I started by using a new retro stencil & some pink & blue inks. The blending of the two made the purply colors, here & there. After it dried completely, I took one of 2 part stencil & added the little circle & triangle shapes, using silver ink, then embossed them with silver embossing powder. The cake was die cut out of metallic silver card, then I sponged over it w/ Versamark & embossed it w/ a clear, sparkly powder. For the layers I wanted some pinks & purples that would go together so I took a couple of large paint chips & die cut them w/ the layer part. They were also embossed. I did the same to the greeting & the backing lavender tag.
The cake & greeting were popped up a bit.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
