Snowy Day in the Deep South

The weather channel said the snow was coming, but lately, we believe it when we see it. Friday afternoon, it started snowing. A heavy, wet snow. It snowed all afternoon into the early evening. Most years we  get a little snow here in N. Georgia, but usually not this much. This picture was taken just before dark on Friday. This poor little cardinal looks a little bewildered.

This is what it looked like this morning. Snow everywhere, but bright sunshine and a sky so blue it’d make you cry. I took this picture from my driveway, looking across the street at the other side of the cul de sac.

Footprint in the snow. It was a little deeper than I thought it would be.

This is view looking into my back yard. So pretty! I’m glad I took these early. Even though our temperature never made it above 34 degrees today, the brilliant sun melted a lot of it. And the wind picked up and blew the snow off of the tree branches.

Thanks for stopping by! Keep warm, y’all!

One Response to Snowy Day in the Deep South

  1. We were in Tampa this weekend at my mom’s so we completely missed the snow, except that my flight down that Friday was cancelled, so I had to scurry to the airport, with 2 hours notice, that Thursday night. These photos are great! BTW, can you tell I’m a little behind in my blog hopping? 😉
