    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Welcome to our February Blog Hop! We at Sparkle N Sprinkle are teaming up with the crew at Really Reasonable Ribbon to show you some amazing projects using SNS glitters, flocking, stamps and embossing powders and some really pretty ribbon from the February Ribbon Kit from RRR.

If you came here from Cheryl Walker’s Blog, you are in the right place! If not, you may want to go to Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog so you’ll be able to start from the beginning.

For my card, I started by doing a brayered background on white c/s using only the yellow/orange/pink sections of a rainbow pad. All of the images were then stamped using black ink and I sponged on a little more color under the ducks. With a very small acrylic paintbrush, I applied bleach to the flowers. Since I used a non-waterproof dye ink, the color bleached out perfectly. I used a white gel pen to help accent the swirls on the ducks and then applied  glue to these areas as well as the flower centers. I sprinkled on Sparkling Snow glitter on some flowers and Sunny Daze glitter on the rest then edged it w/ a black marker.

The only real difference in these cards is the treatment of the black layer. On the top version, I used a border punch on three sides and on the bottom version, I used a scallop edge die. On both, the sentiment was die cut w/ a small oval die and part of the crochet lace ribbon was added at the bottom of the image panel. I used a sunny yellow diamond ribbon for my bows and threaded a piece of the same crochet ribbon through the knot. Both are attached to 5.5 x 4.25 white cards.

In addition to the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog candy, Sparkle N Sprinkle is giving a stamp set to one lucky hopper!  Leaving a message on every blog increases your chances of winning, because it’s a mystery which of the artists’ blogs has been chosen to house the prize! On Tuesday February 15, a name will be drawn from the comments on the mystery blog. Winner gets to choose a stamp set of their choice from SparkleNSprinkle.com!

Next, hop on over to True SJolander’s Blog. I’m sure she’ll have something wonderful to show you!

More fun challenges at Splitcoast! This combines the F4A48, WT306 and CT0111.

All images are DRS Designs. I used a Kpad to stamp the vertical band, and I used one color of the pad for each line, stamping the phrase over & over, etc. I used the smallest scallop border die for the magenta edges and the middle scallop die for the left purple edge.

The hearts were stamped w/ different sections of the Kpad and layered on top of the circles. A tag die was used for the sentiment and I just cut one end, reversed the tag and cut the other end so they would both match. The finished card measures 4.25 x 5.5.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • ODBD Jan Release Blog Hop!

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Happy New Year! Welcome to the January Our Daily Bread designs Release “Taking a Leap of Faith” Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from the ODBD Blog then you are in the right place! If not you should go to the Our Daily Bread designs Blog to start from the beginning so you don’t miss anything! The Hop will run from 8am Eastern Jan. 1 to 8pm Jan 2. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Jan. 3. There will be 5 prizes. Kelley has very generously offered to give five prizes of YOUR CHOICE of one set!!! The prizes are hidden on various blogs along the hop, so it is important that you visit and comment on each one!

The hardest part of my card was taking a picture of it, lol. With all the metallic/mirror finish card stock and glittery bling, my camera really wigged out on most of the pics.  I don’t usually do a lot of glittery metallics, but New Year’s is a perfect time to bring on the bling! And it was a lot fun, as well. All of the glittery fronds, the ribbon and even the houndstooth mirror card stock came from the Christmas clearance isles at Michael’s. The silver card stock for the butterfly and sentiment is a recycled/repurposed foil lid from a container. I stamped them with Stazon and on the butterfly, added a touch of color with some Sharpies. It was cut with the matching butterfly die available only at ODBD.

On the sentiment, I used a Spellbinders circle die and my brand new Grand Calibur. What a wonderful machine! I added the fronds and a bow then arranged the layers on a lavender 5.5 x 4.25 card.
