For today’s Featured Stamper (FS285), on this first card, I chose Sophie’s Bridal Shower Hearts. I just love the little falling hearts, so I kept them along with the CAS layout, but changed the images and shape of the main panels from squares to ovals.

The images are from Avocado Arts. I picked them up at a convention a couple of weeks ago where I met up w/ friends, Sandee (stampersandee) & Penny (Pawallen). (Hi Sandee, hi Penny!!) The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and is pretty CAS. The lampshade was paper pieced from some long hoarded Basic Grey Sultry paper. You know years ago when I first joined Splitcoast, I noticed I had the moniker “Cardstock Collector” under my name. I was floored!! How did they know?? Really, I looked over my shoulder! Not much has changed, lol. I still collect!

    Supplies:

    Stamps: Avocado Arts
Paper: Neenah white, dp (Basic Grey – Sultry collection)
Ink: Ancient Page chocolate, Memento angel pink, Colorbox rouge chalk ink
Accessories: stickles, Spellbinders mega oval & scallop mega oval dies, epoxy sticker, 1/2 inch circle punch

For my second card, I chose Sophie’s Hello Pink Flowers to case. I kept the flower theme and general layout, but changed the images, colors and turned it on its side.

The images are from DRS Designs and the background was done with a masking/reverse masking using a Cheery Lynn sunflower die and a Spellbinders circle die and sponging on the colors. I had a little white frame left over from something and arranged my flowers in and out of the frame. A little stickles was added to the flower center and the finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

    Supplies:

    Stamps: DRS Designs
    Paper: Neenah white
Ink: Distress Inks – Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Ancient Page Coal
Accessories: Spellbinders rectangle & circle dies, Cheery Lynn sunflower die, stickles, Tombow markers

I made this for today’s Technique Challenge (TLC382) and the CAS Challenge (CAS175) using a pic of a bathing suit as inspiration. The dryer sheet flower is pretty obvious, but this really is a quick and simple card. The dryer sheet flower was pretty quick because I cut the layers 6 at a time w/ a scalloped circle die. I didn’t do the spray ink thing because if I’d taken the time to find those, it wouldn’t have been quick. So I just brayered over them real quick and slapped them together w/ a lg brad and attached to a stamped crochet edge circle. Then I added a little stickles.

The images are all from Our Daily Bread designs and the quote was die cut and the only reason it’s on a separated panel from the frame is because I stamped it a little crooked so I had to add another layer. Oh well. The crochet border was stamped a few times at the bottom and put my 5.50 x 4.25 card together.

  • Wonderful Day

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

    Happy Sunday!
Today, the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS268) on Splitcoast is…EVERYONE! Each of us is our own Featured Stamper! So pick one of your own cards, CASE (copy and share everything), remembering to change at least 2 things, then play along!

I found out one important thing with this challenge, I found it much harder to CASE myself than I would have imagined. To me, it’s just hard to pick a card I’ve previously made then make another with changes. I find myself wanting to make the same card. I usually don’t have that problem when CASEing someone else. In the end, I kept the layout and most of the details, but changed the colors, the stamps used and the embossing folder. Here’s the original card from April 2011, called Butterfly Dreams.

And here is my CASE of this card:

Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.comSee what I mean? They look like sisters. One a butterfly, the other a dragonfly. The images on the new dragonfly card are all from Our Daily Bread designs. After sponging the background, I stamped the cattails , small dragonfly and flourish image around them to make the frame. I used a little bleach to remove the color in select areas.

The white background was embossed with a Sizzix folder and some stickles was added to the images. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

p.s If you read Cindy’s Featured Stamper post, then you know I’m one of the new Featured Stamper Challenge team! I’m so excited to be working along side Bridget Finlay, Judy Rozema and Stacy Morgan to bring you the FS challenge. And good luck and best wishes to Cindy in her new job and thanks for the wonderful Featured Stampers she brought to us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
