  • Love is in the Air

Come see how to make this card full of hearts & a lovely umbrella. Perfect for Valentine, wedding, engagement or anniversary.  Plus another way to use a border die to make a frame.

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC949) we are visiting RealFabric & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS piece of fabric to inspire my card. After die cutting the red w/ white hearts paper, I die cut an inside scallop frame out of white to go around it.  For the bidirectional heart frame, I cut a piece of white to 4.25 x 5.50 inches then cut it one side at a time, trying to evenly space the hearts. To make it more aesthetically pleasing, I cut a little extra of the border, trimmed out 4 hearts & placed them in the corners before backing it w/ a strip of turquoise paper.

The umbrella full of hearts was colored & die cut w/ a large stitched circle & placed in the right corner under the frames. The last half of the greeting was stamped (I used a Misti to rearrange it a bit) & the Love w/ Shadow die was used to replace the Love in the greeting. A few of the little white hearts from the border were colored pink & red before adding them above the umbrella.

Here are the Copics I used:

  • Rose Border Thanks

An easy to make Thank You card for someone special. The rose die cut border on top is beautiful over what ever color you want to use. The greeting is half die cut, half stamped, but you can stamp the entire wording, if you prefer.

A big congrats to Giovana, the newest Featured Stamper (FS886)! She has a gorgeous gallery & after much window shopping, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the multicolor design, but where she used a stencil I made a stripe background on glossy paper using dye reinkers & a baby wipe. Her white space is the stencil, mine is the die cut on top. I also kept the “everything” part but made mine a thank you card & added more white space for the bottom of my card.

My card was pretty easy to make. The baby wipe (tutorial HERE) bg had been in my stash for a while so I die cut the rose border, added some white cardboard under it for strength, then attached it to the stripe background. The lower section that was cut off from the border was added back on, but I shifted it just a tad down. The very lower edge was trimmed off about 1/2″ so I could add a narrow strip of the background at the bottom.

The Thanks die cut was stacked for dimension & the rest of the greeting was stamped underneath it.

  • I Adore You

An easy to make card for an anniversary or Valentine’s Day for a special someone. New, soon to be released hearts die & greeting are fun to use, pretty to look at it & easy to change the colors to suit the occasion.

    X3!
For the Inspiration Challenge (IC945) we are visiting Notebook Therapy & their Pinterest Boards. I found THIS picture for my inspiration.

My card is fairly easy. I die cut a white panel w/ the hearts on the right side. I replaced the left side after it was cut & used a plain rectangle to cut that side. I also cut some white card board to layer behind it & the heart cut outs before attaching them to a piece of purple designer paper.

The greeting was cut using an offset tag die & I used the same die to cut the purple layer. Since they were same size, I trimmed down the white layer a bit to show the purple layer. Some extra hearts were cut out of the purple and stacked on card board before attaching to the card.

    Thanks
