For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge, we are headed to the Pinterest Board of Jodi McKee, where I found THIS picture for my inspiration.

My card started w/ a stamp, stencil & die combo. After stamping the outline, I used the multilayer stencil to sponge the greens, blue & purple inks onto the flower. I added a few highlights w/ a white Prismacolor pencil then used the coordinating die to cut it out.  For the pinwheel background, I die cut it out of dark purple & light purple, using the darker for the outside frame & the lighter for the inserts. It’s backed w/ a piece of designer paper. The greeting was stamped on the smallest size of the stitched rectangles set.

I used some fun foam to pop up the flower image.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Greetings from Texas

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC892) this week and I chose Vintagraph.com & their Pinterest Board. THIS was my inspiration. I love vintage postcards and as a Texas native, this one really appealed to me.

My mini slimline card was made by first die cutting then sponging the ink colors onto the white panel. The words Greetings & from (2 different sets) were stamped in the upper left corner. The stitched letters, longhorn’s horns, the cowboy on horseback & hat were die cut from a thick calendar page. After I arranged the TEXAS where I wanted it, I placed semi-tacky piece of tape over them & lifted them up. Two more of each letter was die cut out of white & arranged to shadow the letters. Then I put glue on the back side, attached it to a piece of cobalt blue & hand trimmed around the the letter group. I used the same blue to cut the ground then attached the longhorn, hat & horse w/ cowboy.

All of the individual items were popped up a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Birthday Roses

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC891) we are visiting a Clocks Inspiration Pinterest Board where I found THIS beautiful clock.

My card started w/ this beautiful new floral paper from Rubbernecker. The lovely floral image was stamped and I used the coordinating stencils to sponge color onto the roses and leaves. I also used some Prismacolor pencils to enhance them a bit. I die cut a large white circle and a partial sage green one, then used the long edge of the stitched rectangle die to cut the across the top of the green part. After attaching them together, I stamped the greeting, popped up the flowers up & attached them on top.

For some added interest, I added some pearls in 3 sizes to the circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
