A simple to make Christmas card featuring some beautiful paper and some white die cut trees. The greeting is white embossed onto vellum for a soft look.

For the Inspiration Challenge we are visiting Ornamentally You & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS lovely picture. My version started w/ the pretty paper I used in the background. I die cut at white front w/ a circle cut out & elevated it off the paper bg. I added the trees behind the white top but also added another layer on top of them to give them depth. So there are two layers behind the trees and another on top of the trees before the white top was attached.

The greeting was white embossed onto vellum then I took a small rectangle of the same paper and folded the vellum around it before attaching. The single snowflake was die cut out of the same paper.

    Thanks

  • Christmas Boots

A Christmas card with a southwest flavor, featuring boots, cactus & Christmas trees. Perfect for family and friends living in the southwest.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS880) so a big congrats to Karen! She has a wonderful, growing gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the colors & Christmas theme but used different images, dies, and layout & turned the elf boots into cowboy boots.

For my southwest Christmas card, I die cut all the parts & pieces out of the different colors of card stock & pieced them all together. On the boot shafts, I used part of a piercing die to get the pattern & put some stickles on the white parts of the Santa hat. The boots were popped up just a bit.

  • Christmas Coffee Cats

A super cute Christmas kitty & coffee card using some bright colors & cheerful paper. Perfect card for a friend w/ cats or who loves their coffee.

A big congrats to Dawn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS879)! She has a wonderful little gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the angled layout & coffee theme, but used different images & dies, different colors & made mine a Christmas card.

After coloring & die cutting the kitty, coffee cups & Christmas tree cupcake, I die cut a lg white panel then used a scallop frame die to cut the bottom off at an angle. I added a piece of colorful Christmas paper on the bottom section. I wanted a little more of the red scallop frame (the same die I used for the angled edge) to show a bit more, so I used a small corner rounder on all the corners. In case you didn’t know about this, here’s a little tip for coloring in small dots like on my cupcake & the coffee cups. When those dots are little & in a sea of the opposite color, it can be hard to keep that color from bleeding into those little dots. I figured out that if I color in the little dots first, then go over them w/ a clear Glaze pen (Sakura), it helps keep the larger colored area from seeping into those dots.

The kitty & cups were popped up a bit for a little dimension. Here are the Copics I used:
