This is for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC667) & Stacy chose a lovely Etsy shop. For my card, I was inspired by THIS picture. I love the dark bg w/ the pop of bright blue.
To make my card, I put the rather large Winking Birds image into my Misti, then used a really small ink pad to ink just the branch I wanted & stamped it onto black c/s.  I happen to still have a bunch of Tsukineko’s dauber duo ink sticks so that’s what I used. You could do the same w/ any small cube pigment pad or marker. Since it’s in the Misti, it can be stamped repeatedly to get it good & wet. After I stamped it, I used an embossing powder that I mixed to get the color I wanted. It’s a half & half of a blue pastel & a candy green. It turned out just the aqua color I was looking for.  The background aqua piece  was first die cut w/ a stitched rectangle then I used a narrow inset die on it. I had to cut it 3 times to span the width of the bg. First I cut both ends, then was happy to discover if I lined up a portion on the already cut area, it would cut the remaining center almost perfectly. It’s similar to my resizing tutorial, you just have to be a little more careful when lining up the die. I die cut some little birds out of the same aqua color & added them to the branches & on the greeting circle.
Here’s a look at the inside. I stamped the entire bg image on it w/ a lt teal shadow ink. Adds a little something but it’s still light enough to write on.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
