  • ODBD Customer Favorites!

I’m excited to share a card I made with the brand new Our Daily Bread designs release, the customer favorites Scripture Series 2!  As part of our third year anniversary celebration, customers submitted their favorite Scriptures that they would like to use on a card, and after much thought the winners were chosen and made into this special edition set.

For my card, I gold embossed the scripture and frame on teal card stock and die cut it using a Spellbinders square die.  I used a Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish die on the gold card stock and this was a breeze to cut using my Grand Calibur. The large teal layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and I used a gold gel pen to trace the lines. The gold cross ribbon was white but I used a marker to dye it to match my card.

To see the full release, as well as samples made by the winners of the contest whose verses were chosen, and to hear their stories of why they chose the verse they did, please visit the Our Daily Bread designs Blog!  Also, the Design Team has created samples for your inspiration with these Scriptures.  Here is the list of participants.  There are hidden prizes along the way, so be sure to leave a comment on each one for a chance to win!

These new Sweet William images are just wonderful! They were made to coordinate with the Spellbinders Blossom 3. I stamped all the sizes on gold and purple tissue papers and also on some wide gold tulle ribbon and then die cut them.  After stacking them, I put a gold brad through the center and wrinkled and distressed them within an inch of their lives, lol. I added another piece of the tulle behind the flower then had to get creative with the gold embossed sentiment. This is one BIG flower and I didn’t have much room left on my 5.5 x 4.25 card. I used a border punch across the bottom of the gold layer and backed the flower with a gold embossed fancy label.

  • Forever Friends

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Congrats to Claudia, today’s Featured Stamper (FS229) at Splitcoast! I chose Forever Together to case. I kept the general layout, sentiment as focal point, and monochromatic color. I changed the images, added some inking to age mine and rotated the layout. I was also inspired by Amelia Tunic from yesterday’s IC challenge.

All images are Our Daily Bread designs. I’m just loving this crochet bg image. For my card, I wanted to stay monochromatic but I also wanted it to show up. So I white embossed it on white vellum and inked the edges w/ the antique linen ink. When I attached to the front of my 4.25 x 5.5 ivory card, it was even more visible. I noticed the vellum warped a little at the top, but vellum can tend to stretch when embossed and to me, it looks more like real lace.

The sentiment was stamped on white, cut w/ an ODBD custom die label one, and aged the edges. The butterfly was also white embossed on vellum and die cut w/ a backing vanilla piece of paper (another ODBD die).

On some leftover embossed crochet bg, I used a double border punch and attached this over my white frame then attached the sentiment on top. I added the Jolee’s flower and some ivory and white punched branches.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
