Wonderful challenge for the Ways to Use It on Splitcoast (WT465)! The challenge is to Color Something. It just so happens I LOVE to color! So I colored these cute little kids and I also sponged, masked, stenciled, stamped and colored the background and added color to the greeting strip.

For the background, I started with white card stock and sponged on some light purple and light blue inks. I used a sequin waste strip as a stencil and sponged on some darker blue & purple inks in areas. Then I stamped a splatter image here and there with dk blue & also white pigment ink. I did the same with a polka dot image. After stamping the greeting on a trimmed off piece of white, I sponged on some of the same inks diagonally. I turned down one corner of the image, added a button and called my 4.25 x 5.50 card finished. These are the Copics I used for the image.

    Weekly-Favorite
Congrats to Bonnie (bon2stamp), the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS312)! What a wonderful gallery she has! I spent quite a long time strolling her gallery and finally chose her Not Just for Valentines to case. I kept the layout and use of silhouette image, but I used different images, added some color and in place of the embossed background, I opted to use a leftover strip of card stock I made using dry wall mesh and white acrylic paint.  I made this ages ago for the TLC235 challenge…Painted Grid.

The images are from Our Daily Bread designs. I sponged the color on a piece of white card stock using a couple of Kaleidacolor ink pads, then stamped the Bird & Butterfly Label in one area and the Little Boy in another. I used a Spellbinders Labels 18 for the label and larger black layer and I hand cut the little boy and added him on top.

The strip of painted grid was added across the top layer of my 5.50 x 4.25 card, then a black layer before attaching to the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Congrats again, Bonnie, and enjoy your week!

Weekly-FavoriteA big CONGRATS to Lynn (aka allee’s), the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS310)!! This is well deserved and a long time coming! Lynn is a big participant in the daily challenges and a gallery favorite. Y’all will love her big, fabulous gallery. For my card, I chose THIS wonderful card of Lynn’s to case.  I love the masked strip and silhouette image so I kept those. I changed the images, added a horizontal sponged line (because it looked like my little boy was sitting on top of the water) and added an extra layer. I rarely work on the card front…for me, that’s just asking for trouble. Yeah, like I need more trouble, lol.

The images are all from Our Daily Bread designs. The silhouette and greeting are new, from a set called Little Boys. The large cattails are from the With Heartfelt Sympathy set. To begin, I masked the sides and sky are of the strip and sponged ink from the blue rainbow ink pad. Then I removed the sky mask and placed it over the water and sponged in the sun and sky using the birthstone & desert heat rainbow ink pads. After removing all the masks, that’s when I discovered my little boy looked like he was sitting on the water, lol. So I masked the sky again and sponged a green horizontal line using the fresh greens ink pad. After adding the sentiment, lg cattails and black layer my 4.25 x 5.50 card was finished.

Congrats again, Lynn, enjoy your week!
