For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC834), we’re visiting the Jolly Christmas Shop & Pinterest Board where I found THIS lovely picture.

I started w/ an alcohol ink bg I made. I thought the colors would be pretty for a winter’s night scene. Instead of stamping the trees w/ black, I gold embossed them. The greeting was added using black ink & was black embossed before masking it to stamp & gold emboss the falling snow & Christmas star. A fancy mirror gold frame was added

It’s my pleasure to host this week’s challenge & a big congrats to Mary Beth, the newest Featured Stamper (FS772) on Splitcoast! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the Christmas theme & color palette, but used different dies, a stencil & turned mine vertical.

My Christmas card started w/ a Green alcohol ink bg I made I don’t even know how long ago. I used a stained glass stencil, but since I only wanted the lines (the stencil fills in the centers), I tacked it down on a piece of white & sponged the metallic gold ink all over it as you’d normally do. Carefully, I lifted the stencil & turned it inked side down on top of my AI bg & used a brayer to go over it. That left me w/ just the lines & I quickly heat embossed it w/ mirror gold powder. The large brushed gold layer was cut w/ a stitched rect die then I die cut it again w/ the candle circle. The flame parts were cut out of 2 different shades of gold, as well as the stitched frame. These were attached on top of the green bg & the greeting was also gold embossed on a narrow dk green strip. The entire candle layer is popped up on a foam layer to give it a little dimension.

A big congrats to Laura, the newest Featured Stamper (FS749) on Splitcoast! She has a terrific gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the fish theme & bg colors, but changed most everything else. I used different images, dies & a different layout.

For my underwater scene, I used blue-green alcohol ink bg..it has some silvery streaks but they’re hard to see here. It was cut in a lg circle & I added a stitched circle frame on top. The lg fish, octopus & sea grasses were colored w/ Copics & die cut. The octopus was cut in half so I could place part over the frame & the rest under it. The tiny fish were die cut out of dk blue & left overs of the same bg. I wanted them to blend into the watery scene.

Here are the Copics I used on the fish.
