For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC866), we’re visiting Easy Tiger, where I found THIS set of coasters to use for my inspiration. I liked the colors, so that’s where I started.

My mini slimline card was fairly easy. I already had the flower colored & cut out, so I die cut the window cover out of white then die cut the pink & green layers. The flower was popped up a bit & I used my Misti to rearrange the greeting a bit to fit the smaller white panel. A few gems finished it.

Birthday Flower Quilt

A big congrats to Sue, the newest Featured Stamper (FS804) on Splitcoast! She has a wonderful gallery & after much browsing I chose THIS card to case. I kept the colorful spiky elements but made mine a slimline & changed it from Christmas to birthday.

For my card, I die cut the white front w/ a large stitched slimline die then used the new quilted cover piercing die on it. I made a frame for it by using the same stitched die & die cutting it again w/ the next smaller size. On a separate piece of white, I used Copics to color bands of color then placed it behind the quilted piece. I knew I wanted the spiky flowers on some of the circles, so I used a couple of circle punches (for centers) then lined the holes up w/ the center of the flower & die cut them. I also colored them w/ the same makers then added colored gems to these centers for a little sparkle.

The Birthday word was die cut out of some leftover watercolor paper & the shadow layer was cut out of white. I stamped the small Happy above it & added a med blue layer behind the panel.

Penguin Summer

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS802) & a big congrats to Maggie! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the 3 windows & the sunny yellow & bright pink colors, but used different images & dies & made mine a slimline card w/ a stenciled bg.

For my summer card, I used a sunburst stencil & a couple of yellow inks to sponge in the sun rays. Since the stencil is a 6″square, I had to move it to cover the entire front. I used a reverse circle mask to sponge in the center of the sun. The penguins were stamped, colored & die cut then arranged on top of the blue waves I cut to go behind the yellow window frame. The greeting was stamped in the center window.
