SSCB #20 Watercolor

Welcome to a new challenge for Serendipity Stamps! The Serendipity Challenge this week is Watercolor!

While I love to water color, I also love to make water color backgrounds…just free form swaths of color…then stamp on top of them. I love the random patterns of color I get and how they look with the images on top. A lot of times when I’m making water color backgrounds, I’ll make an extra, or two, and stash them away. This is one of those extras. I don’t even remember when I did it. It’s basically just large bands in different colors. After I decided where I wanted the image and stamped it, and added some highlights with a white gel pen.

The frame was die cut with a large oval then I used a Japanese screw punch with the smallest bit I have to punch the holes all around the edge. The greeting was stamped underneath to finish my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

SSCB#19 Serendipity Stamps – Tri-Shutter Card

Welcome to a new challenge for Serendipity Stamps! The Serendipity Challenge this week is a Tri-Shutter Card! For my Tri-Shutter card, I used this sweet Snowman w/ Birds image. After coloring him with Copics, I die cut him using my out of the box Nestie technique. I added a lt blue die cut layer then attached him to the front section of my tri-shutter card. The purple piece was die cut w/ a fancy snow border. I didn’t use other papers on the sections to the right of him, because I liked the way all the white space showed him off.

I added narrow sections of different patterned papers on the open sections. On the far right right panel, I added a long pennant flag with the sentiment and the snowflake on top. I added a couple of the same snowflake on the panels facing the sentiment, but so sorry…I didn’t take a pic to show it!

After finishing, I added just a little stickles to a few areas of the snowman. If you’d like the template for this Tri-Shutter card, it can be found HERE. These are the Copics I used to color everything.

On my Christmas card, I die cut the beautiful bird in white and traced around the die on red and fussy cut it to attach behind the white die cut version. The sentiment was stamped on white and I used a bracket border die to cut the bottom. I used another die from the border set to cut the red layer beneath it. A red snowflake and some red and clear crystals were added to finish my 5.50 x 4.25 card.

Paper: Neenah white, dk red

Ink: Memento love letter

Accessories: Serendipity Bird die, Spellbinders bracket border dies, crystals

For my non-Christmas card, I went with a sympathy card. After stamping the sentiment on the lower section, I die cut the dove above it. I used some blue-green Copics to color the die cut bird then used the ink spots image to add the dots on the bird and also on the light blue layer. The stamped die cut bird was then added back into the empty die cut space. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.
