  • Serendipity June Blog Hop #1!

Posted on June 7, 2017 12:00 AM by Julie 21 Comments

Welcome to the June #1 Blog Hop for Serendipity Stamps!

If you arrived here from Miriam’s blog, you’re in the right place..if not, you may want to head over there first.

The Prize – One $20 gift code will go to one random commenter from the blogs. So be sure  to visit all the blogs because you don’t know which one the winner will be drawn from. You have through Sunday June 11 to leave comments on the blogs for a chance to win. Mary will announce a winner on June 12 on her Blog.  Each month a different image is 50% off. This month- it’s the Provence Window! On the first & third Wednesdays of every month., we’ll be celebrating with a Blog Hop!

For my water color cards today, I came across some Brusho backgrounds I made who knows how long ago.  I couldn’t decide if I liked the turquoise/blue bg or the rainbow bg more…so I used both!  On this  turq/blue one, I put the Mill image into my Misti and stamped it 2 or 3 times w/ Versafne (to get good coverage). I added just a few highlights here & there w/ a white gel pen then added the greeting below it. It’s edged w/ a black marker, then attached to a turq layer & a very narrow black layer.

Here’s the inside. The greeting was shadow stamped w/ the blue ink slightly offset from the black.

On the rainbow version, I went thru the same repetitive stamping as the first one but ended up heat embossing it w/ black powder anyway. This unknown water color paper is soooo textured it made stamping a line image a little more difficult.

I die cut a narrow black square frame for it & stamped the greeting on a leftover piece of the background. A dot border was embossed on the frame between the image & the greeting.

    Here’s the inside.

Welcome to the May#1 Blog Hop for Serendipity Stamps!

You have through Sunday May 7 to leave comments on the blogs for a chance to win. Mary will announce a winner on May 8 on her Blog.  Each month a different image is 50% off. This month- it’s the Simple Flower Set! On the first & third Wednesdays of every month., we’ll be celebrating with a Blog Hop!

To make my Butterfly Wish card, I stamped the Butterfly Dream image repeatedly across a white panel then heat embossed it w/ white powder. The distress inks were then sponged across mainly the left side & I let them fade to white on the right. Some random water dots were sprinkled on top, then I took a water brush and lifted the color from the little leaves & added just a touch of green. It was die cut first w/ the largest matting basic die then I used one several sizes smaller to cut out the inside & I inserted a white layer between them.

The first part of the greeting was also done using emboss resist & the Wish die cut was double stacked. The Daisy Garden border die was cut out of white then I separated the diamond part from the flowers and attached one under the top layer & the other on top. I found some wide pink tulle polka dot ribbon & fussed w/ it a bit until I arrived at how it looks now.
Here’s a look at the inside.

  • Celebrate Easter

Posted on April 17, 2017 10:38 AM by Julie Comment

Today’s Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS425) is He is Risen…celebrate the Resurrection or raise something up, like using embossing. I did both on my cards.

For this Easter card, I paired this beautiful new Celebrate Easter greeting w/ the Lily Cross & the Stained Glass Oval. I know the rectangle version would have worked better, but the oval is the one  I have. I kept the colors neutral & the layout clean & simple to let the images shine. First I put the cross into my Misti & stamped it w/ desert sand. After lightly coloring it w/ Copics, I overstamped it w/ metallic gold ink then heat embossed it w/ gold powder. I did the same to the frame, coloring in just a few areas.

In real life, the gold embossing is really pretty. You can see it a bit in the pic below.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

My second Easter card was really quick..the triple crosses were stamped on a die cut circle w/ the lilac ink, then the scripture quote was stamped on top w/ the grape ink. It was added to purple die cut & the white bg was embossed w/ a sun ray folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
