Frog on a Log

Today I have a quick card for 3 Splitcoast challenges…F4A329 (reflect weather), WT587 (trash to treasure), and CC586 (green, pool & misty blue).
You can see by my card, that the weather is cloudy & overcast. The trash to treasure item is the little black bow..it came off of a pkg & I saved it from the trash. Seriously, on my best ribbon tying day (if there is such a thing… ribbon & I have a long standing love/hate relationship..I love ribbon, it hates me!), I could NEVER tie a bow that small. To make my card, I stamped w/ Memento, colored w/ Copics, masked & sponged in the cloudy sky, then over stamped w/ Versafine. The clouds were done w/ a cloud stencil I made by cutting the cloud shape edge w/ a pair of scallop scissors. I left the bg water white so the entire scene wouldn’t be covered in blue. I added an embossed green layer, the trash bound bow & a pair of die cut white dandelions.

Dream Big

A big congrats to Melanie, the newest Featured Stamper (FS486) on Splitcoast! She has a fun little gallery & I chose THIS to case. I kept the rainbow of colors but changed most everything else..different images, different layout & fewer layers.

I had the textured paper strip left over from something, so I sponged a bunch of colors of Distress inks across it then stamped the plaid/stripe all the way down. I love rainbows of color and I really like how it turned out.

After I attached it to a large white panel, I die cut it & added it to a slightly larger black panel. I also love the way this greeting looks so I’m using it on a birthday card (instead of graduation). A little color was added inside the loops & big butterfly finishes it.

Here’s a look at the inside. I had the white corner L leftover from cutting the front, so I made it into another rainbow strip

Ink: Versafine onyx, Distress inks squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, worn lipstick, candy apple, shaded lilac, wilted violet, salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, twisted citron, mowed lawn

Accessories: multi butterfly punch, ODBD butterfly die, Spellbinders A2 matting basics A & B, labels 2 (inside) dies, Tombow markers (to color loops in greeting)

Only Eyeglasses

Congrats to Carla, the newest Featured Stamper (FS483) on Splitcoast! She has such a fun gallery & I chose THIS to case. I kept the mustache & neutral colors, but used punches & dies instead of images & added an embossed bg.

I started w/ a large white stitched circle & added the die cut glasses & punched stache & bow tie. I punched a couple of extra staches to use as hair on top of the head & on the bow tie I added some lines w/ a white Prismacolor pencil. He’s attached to large lt gray panel where I stamped the greeting across the bottom & added some blue wiggle eyes inside the glasses.
