• Pink Cat

For my card, I turned the sketch on its side to better fit the images. I used parts of the super cute Meow Collage. I used a DTP (direct to paper) technique with chalk inks on white card stock. The images were stamped on top of this background. The cat was stamped again on white and I paper pieced the cut out cat and stripes onto the white image. I also added some paper pieced eyes I colored green onto to the pink version cat. The kitty stripes, nose & ears were colored with a white gel pen.

For the yarn balls, I masked the first stamping and stamped it again.  On top of the panel behind it, I stamped the Triangle Stripes across it. The Posy and Posy Greeting Center were stamped and cut out and I added some pink sorbet twine behind it. The large background was also done DTP and I used a large corner rounder on the corners. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

And here’s a look at my note book.

  • Sympathy Dogwoods

Congrats, Kecia, today’s Featured Stamper (FS265)  at Splitcoast! Fabulous gallery! I chose her Calla Lily to case. I kept the flowers and the white textured bg but used different images added an oval window and made mine a sympathy card.

All images are DRS Designs. The dogwoods are a sneak peak of new images to be released 3/10/12. Pretty simple card. After stamping and coloring, I fussy cut the dogwoods and chickadee and arranged them in my mega oval opening. The oval was die cut out of the white and I stamped the greeting in the lower right then embossed it w/ the embossing folder so I could line up the embossed lines. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For my card, I stamped and water colored both of the images  ( Light of Life and Sweet Friendship) and used my out of the box Nestie technique to die cut it using a Spellbinders labels 18.  I added an extra cut out lantern on top of the base image for a little dimension.  On the frame, I cut the inside out and attached the quote  (from Spread Light) behind it.

The top background was done with a Cuttlebug distressed stripe embossing folder. I inked the top side of the folder using the Memento inks before I ran it through the Grand Calibur.  On the bottom, I stamped the Honeycomb Background on the dk brown c/s w/ the cocoa ink. It reminded me of chicken wire and I thought that would fit in w/ my rustic looking card. Two screw head brads complete the 4.25 x 5.50 card.

From here, hop to Patter’s Fabulous Blog!
