For today’s Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast (WT404), we are use some of our favorite things. Mine change almost w/ each new card I make, but a few things that stay the same are dies and embossing. And I love snowflakes this time of year. And CAS (clean & simple) cards when I can pull it off. The images are from Our Daily Bread designs.

All I did was emboss the big snowflake and sentiment, then die cut them and also white layers then put it all together on top of a piece of flocked designer paper. Easy as can be! The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Christmas Snowflakes

I made this for today’s Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast (SC414). It’s a very different sketch and I found it really challenging as it almost looks crowded to me. But in the end, I think it all worked out. Everything on this card was embossed w/ white powder.On the turquoise card stock, I used white pigment ink and on the white card stock, I used the Bahama blue dye ink and just worked very quickly.

The images are all from Our Daily Bread designs. On the large white background, I embossed the Snowflake Background w/ the blue ink and white powder. On the smaller turquoise rectangles, I white embossed the individual Sparkling Snowflakes. I also embossed a larger snowflake and smaller ones and used the matching ODBD/Spellbinders Snowflake Dies. The sentiment is from Christmas Blessings and after embossing, it was die cut w/ a circle die and attached to white die cut layer. After assembling, I attached a few crystals to the added snowflakes. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

ODBD December Release Blog Hop!

I love these new snowflake sets! To me snowflakes are just so happy! I’m using the new Sparkling Snowflakes, Bookmarks-Snowflakes and 2 previously released sets for the sentiments, Perfect Gift and Holly Tag. I also used the Bookmark Dies to die cut the bookmark.

For the bookmark, I stamped it with the indigo pigment ink and embossed it with the stardust powder then die cut it with the bookmark die. The sentiment was stamped with the silver pigment ink and embossed with the same powder and die cut with an oval die. I made the bookmark double sided thinking it would make a lovely Christmas tree ornament until after the holidays. Then it could be used as a traditional bookmark. On my coordinating card, I embossed the snowflakes on the cobalt blue background and also stamped most of them again using the cobalt dye ink. I embossed one extra small snowflake and die cut it w/ a circle die to add in the center of the white holiday tag ornament star I hung from the white bow. The sentiment was also embossed on white, die cut attached to a larger cobalt oval then to a white die cut fancy tag. I added some crystals for a little extra bling.
