A big congrats to Cathy, the newest Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS419)! She has such a wonderful gallery and it was hard to chose just one. I finally went with THIS card to case. I kept the layout but flipped sides with the embellishment additions, used different images and made mine a birthday card instead of Christmas.

A while back, I used another Deep Red Stamps image ( a beautiful Chevelle) which I think they must have liked because they were kind enough to send me another image. Being a native Texan, this funny little cowboy really appealed to my sense of humor and I know he will be terrific for cards going to my family still in Texas. So I colored him, die cut using a little out of the box technique with a stitched rectangle, added a greeting and some more layers. I die cut the hat and made a lasso out of twine. I tell you, this ol’ cowpoke and the expression on the “fake” horse’s face just crack me up.

Here’s a peek at the inside and also the colors of Copics I used.

Today’s Color Challenge (CC434) on Splitcoast, is a Christmas in July set of colors…w/ the dessert option of making it a Christmas card. Looks like dessert for me!

The images are from DRS Designs. After stamping my Cowboy Snowman, I used the Color Challenge/Christmas colors to color everything. I made two frames, a brownish/kraft and a dk red. The brownish one was embossed w/ a distressed stripe folder then I  tore openings in both and attached the red one on top. The trees were die cut and added on top. I used a star shape tearing template for the sentiment and white acrylic paint to splatter the “snow”. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Congrats to Silke (silli) FS327!  She has such a big, beautiful gallery that it was hard to choose just one! I finally settled on the layout of her Penny Black card, but I noticed she has quite a few cards w/ a purple & green color combo and I really like that, so those are the colors I chose. I kept the layout and punched sides, but I changed the colors, used different images and changed the theme from Christmas to western.

The images are form DRS Designs. To begin, I sponged the green inks across the bottom of white card stock and the purple, blue-violets across the top. The cowboy garb was stamped on part of it and cut out. The rest became the layer behind the image. I used a southwest border punch down both sides of the dk purple/violet panel. The main part of the sentiment was die cut and the “Y’all” part was stamped and punched w/ the smallest one of a multi tag punch.I stamped the accessories on the white panel and attached the fussy cut hat and boot and added some shading w/ copic markers. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Congrats again, Silke, enjoy your week! Thanks so much for stopping by!
