  • A Little Sparkle

Posted on July 17, 2020 10:49 PM by Julie Comment

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC763) on Splitcoast, we’re headed to a gardening site. So many choices but I was inspired by THIS picture.

After coloring & die cutting the panel, I split it in two & removed a section in the middle. I didn’t have the color of glitter paper I wanted, so I took some gold glitter wrapping paper, die cut it, then ran a black Copic over it to darken it. I used some of to edge the white panels, make a deckled strip to put on top of the orangey sponged panel, a larger piece to back the entire panel. It’s all attached to an orange slimline card. A few jet gemstones were added to finish.

Here are the Copics I used for the flower:

Posted on June 20, 2020 10:11 PM by Julie Comment

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS698) this week! A big congrats to Patti, the newest Featured Stamper! She has such a lovely gallery & there are many I’d love to case but I chose THIS card in the end. I loved the flowers at the edge of a cutaway corner, so I kept that. But I used different images, dies & a different background.

The single rose image is a 2 part, watercolor stamp & I put the solid part into my Misti & inked, spritzed, stamped & repeated this w/ a couple of shades of rose colored ink. Then I stamped the black outline & added a bit more shading w/ a few Copics & a white Prismacolor pencil. I made three of these & die cut them to go on the corner that I cut w/ a curved border die. A diagonal stripe bg stamp & a light green ink were used for the bg layer.

These are the few Copics I used in addition to the inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Missing You

Posted on June 6, 2020 10:01 PM by Julie Comment

Congrats to Patty, the newest Featured Stamper (FS696) on Splitcoast! She has a beautiful gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I love the poppies in the circular window so I kept that. But I used different images & dies, sponged my circular opening & moved the greeting.

For my card, I used 2 different watercolor poppy images. These are 2 part images..the outline & the solid inside. I put the solid images into my Misti & stamped them several times using yellow, rose & dk red inks from the Color Fuse collections. Then the outlines were stamped on top & they were die cut. The white panel has a linen texture & after die cutting the circle, I sponged it & put it back. I arranged the poppies where I wanted them, attaching them to the stitched circle frame, trimming off the lower sections, then attached it over the circular bg. A few clear sequins & a greeting banner were added to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
