For the Inspiration Challenge, we are headed to Retro Stage, a vintage inspired clothing store. I was inspired by THIS dress. Ok..I changed the color from blues to purples & the snowflakes into hydrangea petals, but otherwise, they’re identical!
Since I had already stamped the hydrangeas together & colored them, I used my out of the box technique to die cut them. I took a few extra pics of this, & you can also click the green link to take you to the original tutorial.
First step, pick the die you want to use & determine which parts of your image will go “outside of the box” or circle, in this case. I used my craft knife to cut around those areas & lift them above the die (the stem is also cut out & on top of the die). Only the parts under the die will be cut when I run it thru the machine.
Here it is after I ran it thru the machine.
You can see, only the areas on the right which were under the die, were cut by the machine.
For the lg background, I sponged it using the purple inks, going from darker at the bottom & fading to the white on top. A little water was splattered on it to add the spots. The die cut hydrangea petals were sprinkled around & the greeting added along w/ some gems.
