It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS711) this week & a big congrats to Patti! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the fall them & multi colors, but I used different images & instead of emboss resist, I black embossed onto a shaving cream bg.

For my card, I used a shaving cream bg I made a while back & I thought the colors would be perfect for a fall card. I die cut it then put it into my Misti & stamped this wonderful, new veined leaves bg in black & black embossed it on top. I love the bit of shine & deep black the embossing gives to the image. It’s backed w/ a black, inside scallop die cut panel & I used a smaller white one to stamp the greeting on. I wanted it to stand out a bit more, so I used a couple of rectangle dies to cut a narrow black frame to put around the greeting.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A big congrats to MaryJo, the newest Featured Stamper (FS710)! She has a wonderful gallery & always leaves the sweetest comments. I chose THIS card to case. I kept the watercoloring & floral centerpiece but I used a two part watercolor rose, heat embossed the bg & partially watercolored it.

On my card, I inked the solid part of the stamp w/ reds, yellows & greens, misted it then stamped it. After it dried, I stamped the outline part w/ black & die cut it & attached it to fun foam. The background was white embossed onto the backside of watercolor paper (it’s a little smoother). I started watercoloring it in the roses, got to a little past half way down, & decided I liked the rest of it unpainted. I used a white frame & a piece of vintage white vellum behind the rose to give it a little separation from the bg.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Leaf Bouquet

Posted on August 28, 2020 10:36 PM by Julie 2 Comments

Such a lovely site for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC769)! While I loved all the pretty items, I found it was tough for me to pick, because almost everything is in whites or pastels. For the most part, I’m just not a pastel person. I was really in the mood to make a fall card so when I saw THIS cookbook cover, that’s what I chose. They looked more like fall colors & the white circle was perfect for a greeting.

For my card, I started by white embossing the leaves onto a narrow strip, then sponging the fall colors over it.  Then I white embossed them again on separate pieces of green &  rust colored card stock &  fussy cut those. The white bg was dry embossed &  I popped up the greeting on its own circle. The circle stitch frame behind the greeting was sponged to match the leaves

    Here’s the inside:
