Cowgirl Thing

A big congrats to Vicky, the newest Featured Stamper (FS546) on Splitcoaststampers! After much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the girly theme & layout, but I used different images, changed the top section a little & used an embossing folder instead of designer paper.

I think this little Cowgirl is just adorable! After stamping & color her, I added the greeting beside her & colored it, too. Then I used just the sparkle element from the greeting I used on the inside & stamped it w/ lt pink & lt blue. I added the paisley embossed topper & I rubbed a white Prismacolor pencil over the high points to bring them out a bit. A little stickles was added for the bling.

Elroy & Astro

Today’s Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS429) on Splitcoast asks us to “get techy” & show/use some kind of technology. I’m sure a whole lot of technology went into the space program.
In fact, growing up The Jetsons was one my fave cartoons & I couldn’t wait to grow up & have Rosie be my robot maid or have a flying space car or dinner from an electronic dumbwaiter in the wall. Hmmm…I’m still waiting! But I do have George Jetson’s boy Elroy & his dog Astro on my card. The image was stamped, colored & fussy cut to add to a bg I made ages ago & near as I can remember, it was sponged w/ the distress inks then stenciled w/ white pigment ink. I stamped the image again on this bg in order to have the stars, which I colored in & added Wink of Stella. The cut out circle was added back w/ the greeting on top.

Dance Stage

The challenges on Monday at Splitcoast are TLC631 (no line coloring) & CAS422 (winged things). Hmm….I’m thinking maybe I should have just picked a floral to do the no line coloring. I’ve done it on ornaments & candy canes & it turned out fine, but this little missy was hard to do. Mainly because she’s so little & it’s hard to no line her & keep facial details.

Anyway, I no lined her by using desert sand ink, colored her, then masked her & stamped the butterfly w/ lt blue & colored it. Without having this in my Misti, it would have been impossible. Since the ink is the same color as the Copics I was using, I had to stamp her several times while coloring just to find the edges again. I was so impressed by Nancy Williams card Here & the floor she drew that I added a drawn floor. The curtains were dry embossed, cut out & added on top.
